best way to keep kids from wanting tattoos.

bring them to the beach where LOTS of people have tattoos. point out the older ones and use terms like patina copper and prison tats.

job done.

Would not trade my tats for anything. They have meaning to me, and if you don't like them....look elsewhere Smilie

Not a Ferrari, but where I once worked, some of the nurses put a bumper sticker* on the back of one of the doctor's Beamer convertible. Because of how he parked, he didn't notice it for 2 days until one of his kids said "Dad, why does it say "Free James Brown" on the back of your car?"

*(they actually just rolled painters tape under the sticker so they wouldn't actually damage anything).

I wouldn't either. I went 15 years between the time i got my first one until I got my next. I want to make sure they have meaning to me and represent who I am to those I'm close enough with that would see them (meaning everyone in the lounge). Unlike everyone else who has tats (according to the posters in this thread), I do not walk around naked . . . much less interview naked.

Okay that last part is a lie. I'm naked A LOT.

I'm a person: not a car.

All beemers (beamers according to you) are convertibles, unless you know of an enclosed motorcycle they make?

I think you meant bimmer.

Ditto! I got my first tat when I was 22. It is a dolphin. Yeah, yeah, girly and typical....but not really. It represents the deep love and connection I feel with the ocean.

Now I am closing in on 40 and I am considering a piece that includes my son's name and birthdate. Again, something highly meaningful to me. I have been taking a long time to get it designed; colors, script, all that. I am being very picky about it because 1. it's going on my bod permanently, and 2. since it represents my child, I want it to be perfect.

I'm quite sure the feeling is mutual.

And for the record: Jimmy is still an idiot.
