Keurig coffee makers will implement DRM to block third-party coffee

94 105 March 3, 2014 at 06:11 PM in News (4)
I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. But I know a lot of you love your K-cups and I was wondering how you Keurig users would feel about this. I'm unclear how they are going to keep the option open to brew in a Keurig with coffee grounds, unless they are cutting that out, too. Maybe if enough of us raise a stink, they will backtrack? It has worked before on other companies.

I might be one of the few people who does not care that much for my Keurig and I just bought one from the Kmart deal with reward points. Then again, I am probably one of the few people who hated the movie, Forest Gump. Sadwalk

yeah, there's a disconnect somewhere. 6oz of water would be about enough to soak into 5 spoonfuls of grounds and make a paste. maybe it was supposed to be 6 cups of water for 5 spoonfuls of grounds? that might border on weak, and they do make 51oz presses.

if i remember back to when i still measured, i think i used 8-9 tablespoons of whole beans for my 32oz press and didn't fill it all the way to the top. i prefer my coffee on the strong side as well, and after filtering, the above process leaves coffee i can only barely see any light through when held in front of bright sunlight.

eh, everyone should just use what they prefer. Keurigs are convenient and consistent, but i kind of like the process and control of the french press.
No, 6oz, per five scoops (tablespoons) of coffee grounds. 6oz is enough to fill a teacup to the top. Maybe we just have different taste in coffee. I like my coffee to be a little bitter. I usually like a medium roast, because the dark roasts are usually burnt tasting. I'm not sure what is meant by acidic, unless you mean those specialty types of coffee which are kind of sour?

It says the new coffee makers will be out in the fall. Sound like time to purchase a backup or two.

I wonder where I could find them cheaper than MSRP. If only there was a website that helped sniff out deals on items such as these... Scratchchin

I already have (2) B130 models and just ordered a third from Amazon warehouse tonight for $59. Says it's new but the packaging may suck. I'm okay with that. Stick Out Tongue

But the pay was fabulous for doing stoopid things
like balancing his checkbook, going to the bank for him,
paying his bills, keeping his calendar in check, reminding
him of appointments, making golf arrangements, making
sure his Harley was detailed and ready for him. Yeah,
this job was tough Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I wish I had an assistant that would do those things for me. I also wish I owned a Harley. Oh the joys of being average.

Maybe you're just doing it wrong.
As a matter of fact, you are almost certainly doing something wrong.
It's not just a question of coffee strength/bitterness, I'm known to brew a strong pot of coffee and then dump a shot or two of espresso into it.

It's way too wet and runny to put in lasagna! Your lasagna must really suck.

Iagree That is an insane amount of coffee grounds for 1 cup of coffee.

obviously those who see me make it, know it is in there. the cooking process melts away the curds and just adds the creamy texture along with the melted cheese.

YOU SUCK MOSTESTEST!
