240 bucks for a 4x8 decent little trailer that most crossover SUV's these days could pull, Requires assembly, but with another 60 in lumber and it'd be hard to find a heavily used one on craigslist for that cheap. Comes with title, just purchased one at my local HF.

I've had this trailer for several years now. I only use it a few times each year, but it doesn't take up much space in the garage folded up so I'm glad I have it. I haven't had any issues with wiring, but I sanded off paint at the grounding points on the frame to make sure of a good connection, tacked the wire on with some silicon adhesive, and used a corrugated wire sleeve to protect the wire at the fold joint.

If you plan on folding the trailer and storing it upright, I would recommend replacing the casters with something heavier duty. I used Shepherd C0020605ZN-HDR01(GG) casters (http://www.amazon.com/Shepherd-Se...B009PFBO56). I had to enlarge the holes, but that is easy with a hand drill.

I have a very tall garage and was wondering with a long shot if this was something I could use a wench to lift up and store near the ceiling of my garage to keep from taking up to much room
It might take a few wenches unless they're really burly, you'd do better to look for some scalawags or ruffians...Wink

if others haven't mentioned, don't trust the casters on these more than a few feet on a non-perfect surface. If you plan on moving it folded do yourself a favor...buy proper casters with this at the store and install them while assembling the trailer

fair warning

Can a nissan altima pull this?
My wife uses her Scion XB and I use my Honda Fit to pull this up to 1000 pounds in weight. In the US, manufacturers push you to buy truck to tow. You can also change the axle and get one that has self braking wheels. They the max load for my Honda would be 2000 lbs.

I got this trailer on sale for 269 plus a 25% coupon found in a few magazines (e.g. backpacker, Popular science).

Make sure you repack the bearings with good grease! I made my own sides. Very easy to do if you have the right tools. Redtrailers.com sells side kits for this trailer.

Best to all.

I've got this trailer. I built it to pull a motorcycle cross country 2200 miles. I upgraded the bearings to American made ones. Local trips, the chinese bearings are fine, but def need real grease and to be repack them

You can order extra bearings from harbor freights csr. I actually have the email saved. Buy extra seals cuz I broke the metal spring on the seal removing mine.

SKU# Part# Description Price (plus tax & shipping)
28079 20 BEARING 25MM 1 PC $11.99
28774 31 GREASE FITTINGS 3PK $4.99
27737 99 SEAL 4 PK TRAILER $5.99

The part you are requesting can be ordered by contacting our Inbound Sales department at 1-800-423-2567. They are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

I have this trailer and if you do some research you will find that if you put some better grease in the bearings, it works quite well.

Inner city trash destroying the roads because you only cared about getting your bike home. A loser with no friends or family that would help. Get AAA, you obviously haven't any know-how on simple mechanics(motorcycles are simple; trailers are simpler...). Thus why it was an emergency to get your pile home safe in a dangerous manner. POS moron.

Refer to your local state laws... or if you're lazy, call the DMV and wait on hold to ask what all you need to bring in.
Agreed. My state said they required an inspection because it was "home made", but then when the cop came out he said I didn't. I had to go back to Harbor Freight to get some document that was basically a transfer of title. It was a real nightmare. Finally just begged the woman at the DMV to give me a title and plates with whatever paperwork I had.

While I like my folding trailer, I often wonder how much money I saved. By the time one buys a folding ramp and some wood to make a platform, I look at those sitting in the Lowes parking lot and wonder.

I had a 4x8' Lowes trailer for years, worked great for towing about 500# of kart and gear to the track behind a typical sedan (Impreza). I felt it was a much better buy over the build it yourself HF deals however the Lowes unit was flaking paint and getting surface rust all over. I now have the 4x4' version of this HF trailer, assembly is easy but definitely takes time.

In MA I pay more to keep this simple trailer registered than an old car. I get hit with $40 registration yearly (cars are every two years).

Pro tip: Use Locktite on the threads when you build this trailer so that your axle doesn't accidentally fall off after driving down 15 miles of washboard dirt road on the way to harvest a Christmas tree. Wink

I had one of these well worth the cost.. really easy to assemble, I welded the joints and nuts to strengthen it but it easy carry's over yard of dirt.

does this take away the "folding" function?

can someone show picts of it when folded?

YouTube "pack hubs trailer", I dunno how, but I know how to Google.

Countersink: basically drilling the hole out so the screw is flush and not sticking out to catch on anything you drag across the surface. 1: drill hole for bolt to go through, 2: drill hole directly into previous hole but only the depth of bolt head. if it's a machine bolt, drill bit should be no smaller than the diameter of the bolt. If it's a wood screw, same works, or I do it slightly smaller than the screw. It makes the screw hold in place better. I'm assuming machine screws in this case.

Caster: small cheap wheel, like the ones under your fridge.

A receiver/hitch is what's bolted or welded to your car's frame or truck to pull your trailer. It works with your drop hitch so your trailer can be towed at a level height. If you have a truck with 35" tires, you can't bumper-pull this, the back end will drag. You would need a drop-hitch. (On level ground, hold your trailer level (use a level, torpedo or otherwise; measure from the ground to the tongue. That's your optimum tow height. If your bumper is too high over this, you probably shouldn't pull with the bumper. This uses a 1 7/8" ball.

If you didn't understand half of that, you probably shouldn't be messing with this project.

Thanks for the informative read! I was going to rep you but for some reason it doesnt show underneath your name area.
