I hate the new forum layout

The old version was much much better. Reading through the list of thread titles is more of a headache when cluttering information like thread start date and category is right below it. That stuff used to be pushed off to the side so it didn't interfer, and allowed for 1 line titles. Now the spacing is larger with the extra text and it all just looks a mess. It's more eyeball work to sort through it all, wasting time.
Sigh, constant change is not improvement when you have something that works well...

4/24 update: thumbnail toggle is here
Firefox/Chrome work around to remove thumbnails/popular & trending deals
I wanted to come in here and say that I know that this test has been rocky - historically in the past we've been able to make quick changes based on community feedback but the test has limited what we could change.
That being said, I'm putting together some recommendations about how to improve the test process. Furthermore - I'm actively considering reverting and starting over with smaller changes and making the process a lot more iterative. |

Firefox/Chrome work around to remove thumbnails/popular & trending deals
Okay, if anyone wants to remove the thread thumbnails as well as the Popular Deals and Trending Deals on the right and add a little bit of color back, I have a quick solution for you.
Get the "Stylish" extension for chrome or firefox: Chrome: https://chrome.google.c Firefox: https://addons.mozilla. 1. Open Stylish extension. 2. Click Write New Style. 3. Make name Slickdeals. 4. Click Specify next to Everything, Select URLs on the domain, put in slickdeals.net 5. Copy/paste the following code Code:
@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml); .attachment-preview-cell_v2 { display: none; !important } #hottopic_rightcol { display: none; !important } td.alt1.smallfont, td.alt1.envelope { background: #F7F7E8; !important } 7. Profit???? |

I certainly am a big fan of change in anything, but when it is for the better. The new format here just makes everything harder to use. It is counter intuitive, and harsh on the eyes. Not that it is a huge loss for SD, but I'd probably leave if I was forced to keep it.

Piccaboo already left because of it.

and my time on SD has since then decreased by 90% - check the FP twice a day - done. Win for my family, more time with them.
I reverted back after they added the side bar section to the right. Yep, I stuck with it after they added back the "go to first unread" and "go to last page" buttons. But then the side bar, and I reverted. And what the heck, a day or two later, and it's back
there is no way to mute or stop the ads, wtf
The pictures are also not proportional next to each thread, which makes the lines of the threads in the thread list inconsistent, and it's hard to read.
