This is a freebie site that has everything!!!!! The cool thing about this site is that they show you pictures of the deal (kinda like yelp i guess), and you can search by location (you can save your time and find what you're looking for around your area), by categories or by keywords yummy

I did not like that movie. It wasn't the rape scene that made me not like it either. The movie just jumped around too much for my liking. It did however get good ratings.

I hope you all are doing well! Blowkiss

Since your so quick to assume it's HouseWork. Your significant other must have you on your hands and knees scrubbing away. I bet there are some ways to slickdeal a toothbrush for those hard to reach chore areas for you.

I can't even afford an insignificant other. Not with the way I travel.

Nothing wrong with that, I suppose. I always make sure I pay myself (401K, Roth IRA, and savings) before spending on others. I want a secure future first and foremost. I warm, loving companion is nice too unless it threatens your wellbeing now or in the future.

wave Hello and greetings to all you wonderful people here.

I went for a third trip to the auto glass place for my third Saturday in a row this weekend trying to get a proper windshield replacement. This time I insisted on a full removal and replacement and not simply another attempt to seal the leaks. The first replacement glass had air infiltrations, rattles, and squeaks. I guess in an effort to get rid of me, the manager finally ordered an OEM replacement and it seems to have made a difference. I may never know whether it was the new OEM glass or the a full replacement and reinstall that seems, for now anyway, to have finally been a good replacement job.

I did some laundry and housework too. This included figuring out how to get into the door of my stove/oven and cleaning the glass surfaces on the inside of the door.

I went on a date (us) with another couple to a nice, but expensive, Italian place. I'm glad we both ordered rather cheap entrees and nothing more than a glass of wine each. With the tip and tax, a salad and an order of spaghetti with two glasses of house wine ran me $48.00 and was way more than I expected it to be. We walked down the street to a second-run movie theatre and saw J Edgar (which I liked). After that, we waved goodbye to the other couple, stopped and bought a budget bottle of wine and a Redbox movie rental, and returned to my home. The air was cold and the programmable thermostat had already cooled down the house for the night so it was off to watch the movie in bed with the electric fireplace on and a glass of wine. The movie was not very attention holding, and I was the last soldier up. After turning off the fireplace, placing the wine glasses in the sink, some mouthwash, and finally turning off the movie and TV it was snuggle time and a very fast path to sleepville.

Breakfast out Sunday morning and the date was over. I did some errands, making it to my post office box for the first time in a month to not find the card from FD. (sorry - did it get returned?) At the grocery store, I bought some deals for meals this week.

Back home, I cut up some bottom round steak and made a beef, vegetable, barley, and noodle soup. The bread machine on rapid produced a very, very tastey loaf of wheat, tomato, and herb bread. I love hot bread and this smelled so good that it didn't make it long before I was slicing into that loaf of bread and trying it with and without butter on it. So good - I sliced it up and placed some servings into resealable bags to give to a couple friends. I made another loaf of whole wheat bread while attending an evening church service which was just beeping that it was done in the bread machine when I walked in the house. I heated up some tomato soup with herbs, and enjoyed the warm heal end of that loaf with some hot soup while watching Sunday evening TV.

Tvhappy

Before the church service, I dropped by the home of a friend of mine. Her husband and teenage son don't go out of their way to do much for her and with a family and limited resources she isn't treated to much. We had a discussion recently about crocpot cooking and how she wishes that would work out for her but everything comes out dry and tough. I just don't understand that since I love my crockpot and use it all the time. Friday night I had a mexican chicken dish that I had made in the crockpot. I served it with a wholegrain brown and wild rice side dish. The chicken is skinless, boneless breasts cooked covered in a jar of mild salsa with a can of black beans (all the liquid). It was so good. I had wanted to include some frozen, cut corn but didn't have any to place in with the salsa and black beans. The sauce was terrific with the chicken and the rice was a perfect addition. I had put a container of that together for her which I had planned to take to her on Saturday, but hadn't gotten to. To that I added a half serving of the soup I had made, and a baggie of two slices of the wheat and tomato & herb bread. I dropped it off with the son for her. The husband and son were sitting in sweats and playing video games. The walk and drive were uncleared, and I heard a comment from one of them about being hungry and hope she got home soon. I felt bad for my friend and glad that I was doing something nice for her.

Just before bed, I texted her to ask if she'd gotten the food. She was out running errands and hadn't seen it yet but was looking forward to it for lunch today.

This morning was cold and I needed gas. The station near me is the same price for cash or credit and the lowest price I saw all weekend, so I braved the frozen/slick side streets to go get gas and a no-calorie tea with lemon after clearing off snow and ice from the car.

Back home I got caught up on emails, showered, dressed, and prepared tonight's dinner. A crockpot of boneless pork roast in a garlic, herb, and white wine broth (1/2 cup of wine, so not a lot of liquid) with potato (small, peeled white potato and skin-on redskin potato), large pearl onions, baby carrots, celery, and some corn-on-the-cob nibblets. I will toss a coleslaw with some light russian dressing when I get home and should be eating withing 20-30 minutes of getting home tonight.

Eat

I'm looking forward to hearing what she should of my food. I may take from of the pork roast over to her. I'm sure it will come out good. My crockpot meals almost always do.

haven't been on slickdeals for a long time, long long time where I forgot all my passwords. New computer, and time on my hands and I see Mich is still going strong. Kellogg Kash and Hershey days. LOL Glad to see you're still going strong!
My favorite crockpot recip that doesn't go dry:
3 cut up sweet potatoes on botto followed by 2 ham steaks barely cut up to fit in pot, 2 cups of baby carrots on top and then add 1 and 1/2 cups of maple syrup. Start it when I leave for work, it's done when I get home. Love it. I have also substituted regular potatoes for the sweet potatoes too.
