Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Guess I'm feeding something larger than the kitten, because the food was gone in mere hours. Going to have to start feeding during daylight hours.

Anyone else sick of the lion crap? I love animals, probably more than I love humans, but people are going nuts (could explain why I prefer animals). Trying to ruin a man's life? Really?!!! The majority of these people who aren't vegetarian/vegan most likely eat animals raised and slaughtered in deplorable conditions - that's worse than the lion's plight. But don't call them hypocrites for supporting inhumane practices on a regular basis. No, because that could mean they're more evil and selfish (wanting cheap meat) than the dentist.

Okay off my soap box.

Not inside my house. that's for sure. laugh out loud I just went outside to feed my stray kitten and for all I know the raccoon could be the one eating the food. I saw the kitten for the first and only time about 3 weeks ago. I fill the bowl each day and it goes down little by little throughout the day.

The other day a friend emailed me to sign a petition and I told her why I wouldn't. She emailed back that she'd like to see him skinned and fed to bears and lions. I replied with, "I'd never wish that upon another human being." What I really should have said - if I hadn't replied so quickly was, "That sounds good. I nominate you to do the skinning and to observe the feeding frenzy until every bit of him is consumed."

This is no different than when Romans fed people to the lions for sport. Are we so far removed from civility that we no longer have a moral compass?

laugh out loud I'd love to have a raccoon. I'm crazy about them. A friend had a couple (that was before I knew her) and she said they'd open bedroom doors, jump in the bed, and play with your hair. I wouldn't have that problem with them waking me - we could sleep all day and party all night. Big Grin

Oh I forgot to mention this. My friend lives in Florida and a couple of nights ago he was watching some documentary on TV. It was about bats. While the show is playing he sees something flying in the air. Guess what it was? Yes, a bat! He was freaking out wanting to know what to do. He said you can't kill them in Florida, but he finally chased it out of the house with a broom.

So last night he posted a video of him after the bat which was stuck to his mirror - it was clearly visible. I asked if this video was shot the other night - he said no, tonight. It was another bat. I told him to get himself checked out if he started to feel weird, in case it bit him while he slept. He said he spoke to animal control and they told him to report first thing in the morning to someplace to get checked out. When bats bite, you don't feel it, because they numb the pain.

Yes, to the morals question nod

Sister had a pet raccoon when we were kids.....Peanut.........he was great fun! Don't really remember what happened to Peanut, but do think they tend to get mean when grown.

He moved into a small house that he's remodeling, himself. Money is tight, so he's doing it as he can. While some rooms are completed, the ceiling isn't. There are spaces to the attic that are wide open. I think it's a blessing that he saw the bats, because had he not and gotten bitten, he could have died and nobody would have known how.

I wish it was lent and that I was Catholic, only because I'm ready to give up something. People. So tempted to unfriend everyone on Facebook, even myself (yes, I'm friends with my sweeps account).

I don't know. It's not like they go around testing all bats in colonies, right? Or do they? But you're still here, so I think you're safe. Stick Out Tongue

So I was playing internet warrior and left a comment. It got quite a few likes, but one person said the dentist killed for a trophy, not for food. I said the difference between okay and not okay is intent? Like when i intended to cook the chicken, but left it in the refrigerator too long and had to toss it? That's fine that the bird gave up the ghost for no reason other than my intent? People will say anything to remove the burden placed upon them, with this burden being to prove their actions are superior to the dentist's actions. With that, I'm off to snack on some tiger tails.

Vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters who consume ethically raised and slaughtered animals can point as many fingers as they want and I'm okay with that (not okay with what some want to do to the dentist). But anyone else pointing at him, is a hypocrite and is no better than him, even though they try to convince themselves otherwise. I eat meat and it's rarely ethically fed/raised, for a couple of reasons (cost and availability). So I'm worse than him, but I'm not a hypocrite - I accept that I'm participating in an act I dislike. But until someone wants to pay my bills or bring me good meat, it's all I can do (and going vegan/vegetarian isn't an option).

I had a surprise win yesterday - some sunscreen from Avene. I didn't see it on SD, so I must have entered from a FB giveaway. Oh and the other day I got an Allure prize (also a surprise) - Herbal Essences product. I haven't won many Allure prizes lately, because I sleep until 3 in the afternoon (or later). I hope I can make it to the upcoming August hourly giveaways. So not ready.
Congrats.

Nice prize, congrats.
Thanks for the link.

I almost got a new catt tonight. Wen to Taco Bell and they handed me a tasty frozen drink - some sorta sangria blend. After I said I hadn't ordered that she said she knew, but they'd make it extra so it was mine. One sip and I had to ask the flavor. I then said I knew it wasn't an accident - it was part of their marketing plan. They knew that if I tasted it, I'd order it again. They were right. Can't wait to get another one (but I'm gonna pour booze in that one).

When I got home I thought my good fortune was continuing after I saw another stray cat. As I walked closer calling, "Here kitty, kitty," kitty almost looked like he was coming toward me - sorta unusual for a stray. Then kitty began scampering. Oops, kitty was a raccoon. I always thought the lady in the Sears vision care commercial was mocking me - now I know she was. I don't discriminate and would have happily accepted a pet raccoon, since I already keep raccoon hours. But I wasn't prepared to run away if he was a she and had babies nearby...don't mess with a mama raccoon.
