last christmas santa dropped off two gifts for the neighbor's kids and bragged to other kids in the neighborhood that they got two. so these other kids that got only one from santa felt crappy and thought santa didn't like them or something. it was hard to explain why one set of children get more than another, that's all.
It does annoy me that his best friend/classmate told him Santa isn't real. If your child doesn't believe, please tell them to keep their mouths shut.

You're standing there uncomfortably with loads of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc all bundled in your arms and you almost drop all of it because you see this girl.

Ok, here's another landlord/tennant story. We re-fied a house in NC a few years back. Got a 5% loan for a 15 year mortgage. It still put us under the rentable value of the property. A pretty good deal for us.
It just seems there have been tons and tons of repairs since they have moved in. I put in a new flat top stove and a nice refrigerator with ice and water in the door in July. The water heater was replaced in January. There are other repairs that need to be done (new garage door, a bush that needs cutting down and possiblty some roof work). And we are expecting to take a trip to NC to take care of them before the move to Hawaii. So far, within the past 12 months we are talking about over $2k in repairs and upgrades.
After talking with the property manager, I decided to raise the rent $50. Not a huge sum, but just at least an attempt to get mortgage covered. The tennant got the letter yesterday and called the property manager. She was pissed. She said we didn't want them in the house.
Last time we painted, we used the expensive paint where later you can wash the walls. There was one room that didn't get done. The dining room. It had wall paper. And I noticed then that it was just beginning to lift. But I ran out of time and didn't get it done. (Something else we planned to take care of this summer.) What her problem really is, is that she wants to paint the house inside in her "colors". I won't let it be painted by them or anyone else that lives there. The walls will always be white or off white. Plus I don't want paint spilled on the carpet.

we can go on and on and disagree because i try not to bring up subjects about people and how they raise their kids. every family have their own beliefs and what they feel is right to them. i just don't think it's fair when a kid questions why santa treats another family better than their own.
just like the toothfairy leaving $20 vs. $1.
like i said, i don't care what other families do or how much they give their children but how do you explain to a child that "it wasn't because you were naughty" or Santa loves everyone equally but johnny got more because dah...dah...dah....
I agree it sucks for kids when they see someone else get things they can't or don't and they don't understand why.
The Easter bunny brought my kids a magna-doodle for the car, a bunny and some eggs. That's it. The tooth fairy isn't an issue here yet, but I can guarantee they won't get more than a Susan B Anthony or Sacajawea coin per tooth.

I haven't had to deal with what you're going through because my son hasn't come to me with "so and so got this." If he ever does, I'd probably go into my lecture about being thankful for what you have. Maybe that lecture is the reason he never brings up not understanding why one person gets more than him.
