This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.
All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Since I am already OT can I just say to those of you who are annoyed by newbie questions: Can't you just ignore the question and move on and let those of us who don't mind answering a few questions answer them? I *really* don't mind helping people out. It is my way of giving back to this thread.
Don't forget that next week, April 2 only, Walgreens is refilling ink cartridges for free. They will fill either one black or one color cartridge per person. They will do lexmark, hp, and dell, but NO canon or epson.
So if you're close to being done with your cartridge, print up tons of extra coupons and get a free refill.
I rarely get over to chitchat.
Is no one as excited about the Barilla pasta deal as I am? You all went crazy for Ronzoni (so I guess everyone is stocked). I can't wait to get more coupons to use!

I do that too! Emails works wonders.
This is my new system.... If I see something I like,I will immediately put the q in the T envelope and write the deal on a post it. Don't we have a ton of these??!! This works best for me, cause I'm shopping at numerous stores. I'm 5 minutes away to most places, so I usually have 6 envelopes ready to go, whenever I am. HTH
BTW
While I can't speak for everyone here, I can speak for myself. Sometimes when I post deals I get 20 PM's asking about all the details. Now that's fine to do, but some of us (including me) don't know who we are talking to in internet-land. So when I see a PM from a person who just joined SD in the past month, and who hasn't posted hardly at all (the # of posts under your avatar), I wonder who this person is, and are they the Red Shirts trying to give me a hard time (or worse)?
Recently I posted on the board about getting some Bounty paper towels and you would have thought I was telling people how to get a free Lexus from all the PM's I received. So no, I didn't reply to 99% of them (I just don't have the time, and I don't know who the people are). I'm confortable with PM'ing with people that 1) I've talked with and have a trusting relationship with, or 2) I've seen post A LOT in this Target thread. See, that way it's pretty safe for me to assume that you aren't out to give me trouble.
KWIM????
Ok...I still consider myself a newbie and 99% of the time when I come to post something I've found....5 people have posted it before me so I shy away from posting it yet again....so how are people who are new to the thread supposed to get to know people or establish a trusting relationship if they are not given the opportunity???
It is really frusterating when people come here and just want the deals written out for them in black and white without doing it themselves....but there is nothing wrong with offering guidance.
Also, i have pm'd people a few times and been completely ignored...to me that's just rude. It takes 5 seconds to type a reply. If you don't feel comfortable sharing information, then just say that please.
I agree with TargetMagic about the clique feel to the thread...it's like I'm in high school again and not quite cool enough for the a list lol.....I'm not even sure it's intentional but it seems very hard to break into this thread.
I always do my bogo qs last in the pile. That way the other coupons can attach and the bogos usually beep anyways, so if they beep item not found it is always k1d anyway.
As far as sharing or teaching others the 'deals', I have given up. When they look in my closets, freezers, pantries, etc and ask how I do it, I just reply "sales" and let it go. The ones who actually want to learn how will find a way to do it just like most of us did-on our own.
I've given up trying to teach people too. One teacher at school is going through a divorce and I told her that I coupon heavily to make ends meet since I'm a single mom too. I gave her coupons from Target and explained what to do. I also gave her a few message board websites and the coupon generator site. A few weeks later I asked her how she was doing, and her reply was, "I'm too busy to look for coupons. If you find a good deal can you just print me out a few coupons?" My response to her was "You can give a woman coupons and she can get good deals for that day, or you can teach her where to find the deals and she'll get good deals forever." It didn't matter. She's still too busy. I am too, but I find the time because I KNOW how much money I save.

I understand your frustration.. I'm also a newbie. I've seen how T accepted my q's in Dec and how they're scrutinized now. Some of the regulars are gone, perhaps underground?? I don't know how many of us there are and what impact that has on T. I want to think it doesn't, but who really knows. I've come to accept that I won't get every deal, but I'm happy with the ones I find. I've never saved this kind of money.
