Doctor Who season 9 will air on Sept. 19. Click the link below to see the trailer and be sure to watch the entire thing, there's a familiar face at the very end. Or you can jump to 1:20 to skip the possible episode spoilers and see who I'm talking about.

There's other DW news too...
Reece Shearsmith (League of Gentlemen) who also played Second Doctor Patrick Troughton in An Adventure in Time and Space will be in a season 9 DW episode.
Strax from the Paternoster Gang gets a one-off, audio drama with Jago and Litefoot.
"Played by Christopher Benjamin and Trevor Baxter, Jago and Litefoot were created by scriptwriter Robert Holmes and made their first Doctor Who appearance opposite Fourth Doctor Tom Baker in 1977 story The Talons of Weng-Chiang. They were reunited by Big Finish over 30 years later, going on to collaborate on a string of dramas with a tenth series due for release this October."

Edit: 'The Doctor's Finest' premiers Aug. 15, with interviews and new footage from previous episodes. You might need to set up a new pass if you DVR Doctor Who, as the title doesn't include 'Who' in it.

Doctor Who season 8 is now available on Netflix instant watch, if you want to catch up or re-watch it before season 9 starts.
I had been following comic-con vids of all my fav shows, my fav are the NerdHQ panels [youtube.com].
Zoe - have you seen the new Geeks Who Drink Syfy show? I think you would have loved the last episode [syfy.com] in particular b/c of some of the trivia questions. I don't drink but this show is so much damn fun. Love all the Geek trivia.

I've seen the ads for Geeks Who Drink but haven't watched the show. I very rarely have a drink, due to some of the meds I take, don't want to damage my kidneys.
I will probably have to set up a new Tvio season pass to catch these, since the title is "Doctor's Finest" and the word 'Who' isn't in the title.
What is your favorite DW episode?
The shows just had those episodes listed as 'Doctor Who' but with more time on each episode than the usual hour long show. So since the shows have the original air date on them, you'll have to set them up to record, unless you have it recording old episodes too.

I wonder if those cut out segments eventually show up on the DVDs which I never buy or watch for DW....

The one that always makes me cry and smile is Vincent and the Doctor and I just love that Bill Nighy is in it. Love The Doctor's Wife too.
The scariest one is Blink, or perhaps The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone.
But then Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead while really scary, is also that moment when (spoilers for anyone new to Doctor Who)
I never buy the DVD's so don't know what if anything I'm missing. Do have all the specials they've aired over the years on my DVR.
Thankfully a lot of DW episodes have been found tucked away in archives, old TV stations, attics, etc., in other countries. But there are gaps still.
I started watching season 8, but just couldn't get into it, and haven't finished watching it.
