Q's CVS Lounge

I changed the name of the thread because I think that Q's CVS Lounge gives a better representation of what the thread is about. This isn't a deals thread although I will sometimes be posting deals. I'll probably talk more about Transylvania and the stock market than I will about the drugstores but the main thing is that is that I want this to be a cool place to hang out.

Target stock is down over 5% today at 72.96. WM is down 1% at 58.25. WM reports earnings on Nov 17th and Target reports the next day. Should be interesting. RA stock is sitting at 6.11 after it got up to 6.50 a couple of days ago. If it goes down to 6.00 I might give it a spin. My big problem with the market is that I think it's artificially too high (due to Wall St thinking that the Fed won't raise rates) and the stocks that are "good buys" like Valeant and Weight Watchers are way too risky or shady. Weight Watchers is still a $5 stock and Valeant is scum of the earth. How can you sleep at night when you sell a $1 drug for $750? This is what happens when greed takes over. I'm all for Valeant making a profit but to buy out companies and then jack up the price of drugs that people need is ridiculous.

Anybody wanna surf Patricia? That looks like one bad ass hurricane. Winds up to 200 mph. 20 inches of rain. I hope everybody got out of there. It's going to hit in northern Mexico. Category 5 hurricane.

Sdca, did you see Shark Tank tonight? All of the sharks went in on a drone company. I think the total investment was 3 million for 25% of the company. They had a drone and also something that turned a phone into a drone (which was amazing). So I'm thinking will this have any impact on GoPro and Ambarella stock on Monday?

Now that I think about it, I'm wondering why these guys didn't go directly to GoPro? That phone thing is going to be red hot. For $300 you can turn your phone into a flying camera. The sky will be filled with these things...

I'm not sure that I like the idea of drones but leaving that aside the technology is amazing.

It looks like GoPro already has a flying camera in the works. It's gonna be dangerous walking down the street. More knockdowns than a Triple G fight. GoPro reports earnings on Oct 28th and it looks ugly...

No, I've never watched Shark Tank. I wonder if it was filmed before the FAA decided to regulate drones. GPRO reports earnings next week.

I have mixed feelings about drones. They certainly are useful in some circumstances, and I think they are fine for filming personal adventures. I'm concerned about drones interfering with law enforcement, fire fighting, and aviation. I think they should be regulated and required to have a transponder so they can be identified. Someone close to me has one, I was in my living room one day and heard a noise, looked up and there was a drone hovering right outside the window. That gave me the creeps.

That's bogus. I'll bet there will be a lot of fights over drones. A total invasion of privacy imo but there is a plus. If you want to check stock at CVS, just send the drone.

I want to go surfing in Mexico. 100' swells. I don't know this for a fact but I'm sure that the surf has to be bigger than big. As a surfer, I always get excited by the prospect of surf even if it's too big and chaotic to possibly ride it. In 1989 there was a swell that hit the South Bay with the biggest waves that I've ever seen (even in Hawaii). Measured against the Manhattan Beach Pier the waves were 40' (faces). El Porto was bigger. The beach was gone and the whitewater was coming up to the steps by the bike path (no exaggeration). A couple of days later the surf calmed down to 15' with perfect shape and I had one of the best sessions of my life. If you ever see one of those John Post pictures with white water higher than the pier, that's the swell.

Here's a John Post of a big wave at the pier. It's not from the swell that I'm talking about because the surf was bigger. The pier is 26' high and to the top of the lights is probably another 10'. Some idiotic people have been known to jump off the light poles into the ocean but that's another story... laugh out loud

This hurricane came up in one day from a tropical storm to Cat 5. Its horrible. The worst ever. Last report was around 150mph, but they were predicting 200mph. I sure hope it dies out before doing catastrophic damage. So scary.

I thought it was 1.5mil for 15% with the option to invest more for another 15%, but they went back and forth so much I've forgotten exactly how it ended.

I was confused too. That phone thing was hot but I think a flying camera is a better idea. I don't think people want to risk having to buy a new phone when it goes up into space. Realistically, if you're at the beach do you want phones flying all over the place taking pictures? I don't have a lot of sympathy for celebrities but can you imagine what their lives will be like? Everywhere they go, they'll be a million of them hovering overhead or 10 million if its a Kardashian...

I glanced at it. I think the better ad will be the weekly ad (at least I hope so).

John Cena is taking 2 months off after Raw on Monday. The "experts" are saying that he'll win at the ppv but lose on Raw. No reason for him to retain the championship if he's gone for 2 months. Also, no reason for the Undertaker to win against Lesnar. The Undertaker probably has one more WrestleMania in him and that's it. Lesnar is the biggest draw in the WWE. I'm looking for Lesnar to win big.

I tried the Organizer Lady & it just didn't take.
Always "too much stuff" around

so I had a week of highs & lows that exhausted me
one example:
Order coupons from Dede on Monday, arrived Thurs, and she messed up my Schick Qs
so I couldn't finish up at RAMad
but also ordered from MCH on Tues, when she listed Schick. She's in FL, so it usually takes a week
but
her envelope arrived FridayWhee, so I had Schick after all

Hubs had the car so I couldn't shop til PM, but our mail doesn't arrive til 5 or 6pm when the unexpected MCH Qs arrived. I was at 16.21 on Schick & about to buy a can of shave gel but no car & delayed shopping worked

Looking at MCH right now & don't see any Qs that look interesting
should I be ordering something?

I quit buying papers
I could handle going from $1 to 1.50
but when they jumped to 2.50, I bailed

I found a Living Social deal that gets me the SF paper delivered $52/yr & just started getting that so I have one set of Qs on sunday now
