Names for Golden Retrievers... or any dogs for that matter

OK, I am hoping that Bea lives a nice long time, but she is already about 13 and had a very hard first 5 years.

A friend in MI has goldens in breeding age and for the last 2 Decembers I just fall for the pics of the puppies. Bea won't tolerate any other dog in the house so I cannot get one (or 2 )now. If they are still breeding in a few years after I no longer have her I think I may want to drive to MI for one or two.

I'd probably want sisters.

My mind already plays games with naming them.

First I thought..
Sanity (as my dogs have been my sanity...grounding me) if I got one.
If I got 2 though???

I had a golden when growing up, named Misty.

I saw one of Daisy's (the friend's golden...momma) puppies on FB and she was named Abby Rose which I thought was pretty

The names Blanche and Rose popped into my mind and cracks me up. On one hand I don't know that I'd want silly names but I keep thinking about that. *will wait for the joke part to sink in

Since dogs are precious to me I thought Sapphire and Ruby.. but it sounds... hmm ehhhhh

What would you name them if you could?

13 is not old for a dog. Don't buy into that 7 dog years for every 1 human year thing. If you take good care of a dog, there's no reason they can't make it to 18. What's key? The thing that 90%+ of people don't do. Brush their teeth. Most dogs die young due to complications from dental disease. People think it only affects their teeth. It effects their entire body. The bacteria that grows in a diseased mouth will spread throughout the their body causing organ damage and finally premature organ failure. Taking care of your dog's teeth can add 3-5 years to their life versus not doing so.

I agree that caring for a dog extends its life.
Half or Bea's teeth are missing or broken due to her earlier hard years on the streets. The vet even thinks she was born on the streets or dumped as a puppy and didn't get enough calcium as a pup.
Plus they think she was hit by a car or thrown from one as a pup due to the damage to her right hip. It's kind of crunched in on itself and lacks much rotation, leg is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch shorter than the others due to that and also lost much muscle mass since she doesn't use to to bear weight. It's more of a rudder while walking or running.
