Didn't know that F1 had two female drivers compete in races back in the 50's and 70's.

Maria Teresa de Filippis, the first woman to compete in a world championship Formula One [theguardian.com] grand prix, has died at the age of 89. The Italian started three grand prix races in a privately entered Maserati 250F, finishing a best place of 10th at Spa-Francorchamps in 1958.The Naples-born driver had earlier tried to qualify for that year's Monaco Grand Prix, failing in her efforts along with another debutant, the future F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone. Both were too slow to qualify but there was no cut-off in Belgium, allowing De Filippis to qualify in last place. Nine of the 19 cars then failed to finish, and she crossed the line 10th. *snip* The late Lella Lombardi is the only other woman to start a Formula 1 race, making the grid in 12 grands prix between 1974 and 1976. Britain's Divina Galica, the South African Desire Wilson and the Italian Giovanna Amati have unsuccessfully tried to qualify for the races. |

Kvyat's demotion still came as shock even in a sport not known for second chances.
"Really? one bad race and Kyvat's dropped, what about the podium in the previous race? #Shortmemories," commented McLaren's Jenson Button on Twitter.

rumors of unrest in the Haas garage, not sure if they're finally having the new team struggles that everyone expected, or if Gutierrez might be shaping up to be a bad call

I haven't watched any of the coverage since the race. During the race Toto was very diplomatic about it, Lauda as usual spouted whatever came to his mind, I haven't checked to see if either have changed their minds since then.
Short of a rain race, that was an amazing level of chaos for a dry race. Verstappen probably won't do that well again for a while, but what a way to start with a top tier team

I wouldn't surprise me. I didn't really look. I'm only going for Friday practice, couldn't justify all three days or the Sunday only ticket prices. I have USGP tickets already anyway, I just want to see the cars run on track. I doubt my fat butt would fit in their track experience cars anyway

Last time we were there, we got a great deal on a flat near Leicester Square, one evening we were headed to a restaurant and walked by there, they were prepping for an event but we didn't hang around. Turns out it was for Hamilton and a couple of the other drivers, we saw it later on TV.
