Best Buy online purchase receipts lacking IMEI# impacting rebates, warranties of cell phones and tablets

5,089 7,646 March 1, 2016 at 09:29 AM Best Buy
Just curiuos if anyone has experienced this. I have gone through hours of phone calls and trips to service center as my Samsung Tab S purchased in April 2015 (still under warranty) is having charging port issues, and they will not cover under warranty as the receipt does not show IMEI #. I found some other threads on this on other sites but no answer yet. Best Buy Customer Service has been useless.

simple solution is to order a new one and then return the broken one. they won't know if there is no serial or imei # on the receipt.

Now, now, he's probably already embarrassed enough having to admit this so he can get help. Let's not rub salt in the wound.

Do what dayv said.
Obviously Best Buy loves to screw customers. Now you have the opportunity to screw them back.

worst mentality ever as a consumer. companies need profit, screwing them makes them ultimately screw consumers more by higher prices for no loss in profit.

If the company screwed him first and their customer service isn't solving the problem they created, why would the OP be under any obligation not to screw Best Buy right back? Are you the CEO of Best Buy or what?

Probably he has best buy stock. That's why he doesn't want anyone hurting this shitty company.

I don't begrudge companies making SOME profit. But it's when they gouge out the ass that I have an issue with their bottom line being TOO fat.

Case in point: I worked for a regional retail store chain(Boscov's) here right out of high school in their stock rooms at the then newly created Steamtown Mall in our downtown.

One day a courier comes upstairs to the stock area to have someone sign for a small package for the grand opening sale. I sign for it. Then I'm curious as to what is in this tiny tiny package. I sneak a peek at the packing slip(moments before the package is yanked from my hands by one of the office tw@ts).

It contains 100 1 ct. diamond rings. For the store opening sale they were on "sale" for $999.99(a bargain). The price I saw per ring on the packing slip? $100 each. So that 'sale' price of $1k was a mere $900 over their cost. What an astounding value.shake headRoll Eyes (Sarcastic)

THAT was when I went full throttle on never paying retail or a 'sale' price ever again for just about anything.
