Ok all the teachers out there....what is a nice end of the year gift you'd like to receive? We gave my DS's Kindergarten teacher a scented candle for teacher appreciation week, so I need something different that she would actually like/use. kwim?
A gift certificate to Target would work for me! I'm crafty, so we gave our ds's teacher a shadow box with her name made out of cut down colored pencils. Some other thoughts:

gc to a book store
let kiddo pick out a book and donate it to the classroom, have her sign the book inside
if she likes to garden, give her a little pail, shovel, hat from the $spot
movie passes

Really, we just appreciate the thought!!!

Anything disposable! I'm a physical education teacher so I don't get many gifts from students, but when I gave my son's teachers gifts I tried not to give them something like an ornament, statue, etc. I have given them sets of giftbags, thank you cards, disposable tableware (plates, forks, cups, table cover, etc.), gift cards are always nice, but I try to give something I get free or cheap!

We got her the Step 2 Party time model...Its very lifelike..."working" burner...sink light...clock...phone...microwave...and came with cool accessories...

They have lots on their website and TRU carries a few of them...none at target that i have seen...sometimes the tables or accessories...we got ours from TRU and then the table and her art desk from the Step 2 website with free shipping offers...Step 2 does free shipping promos quite often so worth checking...

I do know we got a TRU booklet in the mail yesterday with a $10/100 valid 6/6-6/28 in store only..so at least you could get some kind of discount....Smilie
I love the step2 one but it's so expensive, that's why I was looking at the FP one. But we have the house which he LOVES but it's big. Hmmm--maybe I'll put that on the holiday list for grandma to get.

Stormy-you always have everything!!

Mine was a $10/$50, that's why I feel I have to use it

It's been clearanced out in most stores so you're probably out of luck if you don't see it. It was on an endcap with all the playing cards.

Good news, the stage of throwing huge fits doesn't last forever! DD is almost 13, and it's been awhile since we were in that stage! Smilie hug Smilie

DD is 13 and a sweet sweet girl, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about the hormone possessions that require an exorcist!!! Laughter to tears, back to laughter, to I hate you, to tears, to laughter, to "I just need a hug".

Definitely GC. My little sister is a teacher and she gets alot of the same crap that she will never use!

I was going to give DD's teacher an end of the year gift, but she didn't acknowledge the beginning of the year gift, Christmas gift or teacher appreciation gift.

The gift bag would have been a "welcome summer" theme with sunblock, razors, Softsoap body wash (grapefruit yummy!) a Barnes & Noble GC and a pair of flip flops.

Oh well, her loss!

Btw....there is a coupon on coupons.com for a free fruitista freeze from taco bell.....well dh decided thats what he wanted for lunch and lucky me i had just printed it the night before and shoved it in my purse....it's seriously yumm!!!!!
Ok, now that we are on the subject of Frustistas..........someone PLEASE tell me the correct taste to these......laugh out loud Seriously- here's the issue:

We have 2 local Taco Bells. The very first freeze I got tasted soooo good, just like a slurpee! I went to the other location the next time, and got the same freeze, but this one tasted like it was loaded with SELTZER! vomit Gross!
Next time I went back to where I got it the first time, tasted super again! I asked them what the deal was, he told me that maybe the other location accidently mixed the carbon with it because it came from the same machine. So I was like- okay.
NEXT trip I go back thinking, maybe they had something wrong with the machine that day.....I ask the guy FIRST if it is supposed to have seltzer in it, and he said Yes, it's supposed to be carbonated! HUH???? So IS it supposed to taste like a slurpee, or a carbonated slurpee??? Confused The carbonated seltzer crap seriously tasted like poison! laugh out loud

I got Sophia (19 month old dd) the Laugh and Learn House off Craigslist for $20. It was in near perfect condition and the only thing wrong was it was missing the balls that come with it for the ball shoot thing on the side of the house. We gave it to her for her 1st Bday and she has loved it ever since. I am thinking of getting her a Kitchen next (she has one at the babysitters house and heart it), buy I will probably look on CL again for it. Around here they are listed often and at good prices. This might be a good option for you all if you have an active CL in your area Smilie

I have bags and bags of Pantene and P10 - as I'm sure we all do. So, a couple times my cashier wouldn't take all my q's for whatever silly reason they made up, and I need to make a couple returns. Can someone tell me how I can tell what "flavor" Pantene when the # on the receipt doesn't match the UPC? Ex: #063023163 I know if I go in with a receipt and the wrong product they'll just send me packing.

Thanks so much for anyone with the answer!! hug

Well since this is a Target thread and you are all talking about play kitchens and Rose Petal Cottage............. I got them bot at Target on clearance. Last year at the end of the summer Target had a Step 2 barbecue set for about $20.00 http://www.step2.com/product.cfm?product_id=1392 we love it. We don't have the umbrella in the house, but when we take it on the patio and they can open the umbrella. The Rose Petal Cottage was on clearance in Target in Jan and was also about $20.00. So if you don't need the toys now wait until the toy clearance to get great gifts. We got a Little Tikes picnic table for $12.00 and some other great summer toys.

I just read looked up "The Strangers" on IMDB, and think I'd like to go see it soon. But I'm sort of like the other person who would rather watch it at home during the day...LOL!

Famous Dave's BBQ restaurant just opened up here yesterday. I've never been to one and would like to know opinions on it. We will surely go try it soon, it smells great when you drive by. So what's your favorites to order there?

Thanks
Love the smoked salmon salad. And the BBQ brisket. And the corn muffins are delish!
