He's the newest addition to our family. We adopted him this weekend from the animal shelter and picked him up from the vet today after getting fixed.
He's a rat terrier mix of some kind. About 25 pounds, and he needs a bit of weight on him so he'll probably end up about 30ish or so. He's incredibly friendly and sooper smart.
He's very sweet, loves attention, very affectionate, loves our Hooligans, and is going to fit in very well in our family.
He hasn't made a peep since we've met him. I'm not sure if he knows how to bark at all, actually.

He also says that Lewis is likely a Terrier/Whippet mix of some sort, maybe with lab thrown in somewhere down the line, but that's somewhat unlikely given his small size and the fact that he doesn't like to chew on stuff.
He was weighed today at 24lbs even, and the vet says that he'll likely top out at about 30lbs as a healthy weight.
He got the cone of shame today to help him stop licking his surgery wound, and the poor dog looks pretty pathetic with the cone on.
I bought one of those ropes with a ball on the end of it to play tug-of-war with him, and after a rather furious session this evening I got an ever-so-slight grumble/growl out of him. It was barely audible.
The vet says he may some day find his voice, or he may not.
Regardless, he's a pretty amazing little guy for such a small dog.
We took him yesterday or a wellness visit to the vet, now today he went back for a sick visit. Since last night, he's not wanted to move much on his own, he didn't follow my wife into the bedroom last night when she came to bed, and I had to go get pick him up off the couch and carry him.
He won't eat or drink, and he's already lost a pound since yesterday. He's had both diarrhea and vomited, and he's been quite lethargic.
My wife took him back to the vet again today, and they gave him some antibiotics, a couple shots, and told us to watch him closely for a day or two. One of the shots was supposed to help his appetite. So far it hasn't worked. He's refused cheese, chicken, bacon, and won't even slurp up any chicken broth. We have instructions to bring him back in 48 hours if his condition doesn't improve.
He looks and acts so pathetic, but he's still affectionate and wants human contact. Vet says it could easily be reaction to the anesthesia. I hope that's all it is.

We've been putting some water and chick broth in the dog with a syringe every hour or so.

He's also very cuddly and he does bark, but I think he's only barked a grand total of about 10 times so far since he's joined our family.

Thanks for letting us know.

My God, if I saw that, I think I'd bark too.
*yes, I know it's spelled "leech" but I went with it anyway.
