Help Me Build A Thumping Music Playlist

461 61 July 18, 2016 at 04:54 PM
ISO: Thumping music! Ever since I heard Ex's & Oh's, (don't judge) I've been looking to put together a playlist of really thumping songs. (really driving bass drum beat) Help me build it out! So far, I've come up with...
Ex's & Oh's - Elle King
Folsom Prison Blues - Cash
Who Do You Love - Woolies
Paint It Black - Stones
Train Song - Phish

I lean towards rock and folk (as you can tell), but if it's a really driving song, no matter what the genre, I wanna hear it!

Well, Ex's and Oh's is by far the most thumping. Really good steady driving beat. It was what Johnny Cash was most known for. What he somewhat made popular. I believe in the movie they described his sound as a freight train coming. Just makes you want to go somewhere. Thumping probably isn't a good word to describe it anymore with all of the techno music out there which people described as thumping, and it's not techno that I'm looking for. It also has to be at a certain tempo. I should look up what tempo those songs are and see if there's some tool I can use to discover songs at that tempo.

Two bands I haven't really paid attention to. Been listening to them today though and liking them a lot. THANKS!

Yeah, he's definitely got a few that would fit this bill, that's the first that came to mind.

HUGE fan of the Bosstones! Tried to buy Dicky Barrett a drink at a bar and ended up having him buy a drink for me. Great guy!
