Looking to adopt a dog, any advice?

Hi SD fellas, I am recently looking to adopt a dog. Spending my part-time with him, or even taking him to my office. Any advice will be appreciated.

Cleaning the litter box every day > cleaning poo in the yard once a week?

Unsure
before my cat passed away I would clean the pan if he used it, with a doggie door he would go out side when the weather was nice and bury it himself, if there was a lot of snow he would not bother going out. The dogs when we take them out we clean up after them right away. Our dogs are little and I have seen to many coyotes to just tie them out in the yard.
We do not have to worry about stepping in the dogs poo, or the grandkids stepping in them, also if you have fly's in your yard they go and sit on the poo then come bother people or try to land on peoples food.

Sorry for your loss of your cat. I agree that it could cost more to take care of a dog. Thank you for sharing.
