Ohhhh thank you very much! I have 3 cats and they love to eat. One of my old girls (she is 18 by the way) isnt doing very well, it may be time for her to go to a better place soon.
My 18 year old kitty is in the same position. She got out today and went missing. For a few hours I really thought she went off to die on her own, but luckily a neighbor found her in his back yard. We are going out of town for a few days...I hope she lasts til we get back. She isn't acting "sick" she is just sort of withering away, can't weigh more than 2 lbs now. So sad for my kids.

Trang or someone else--anyone have a freestyle meter lying around that you can send me? These forum peeps are saying it takes less time/blood. I will continue on the one touch for a while as that's what my doc office wants us to do but I want to at least try it and see if there's a difference.

I'm thinkin it's all the same, the kid/person is the difference

Sam, I can send you the Q if you want. I have the Contour meter that Target still has for $18.98. The Contour meter is the one with the free 10 strips in the box. Depending on your cashier, you may even get overage with the $30 Q. Pretzels got it everytime. Not me. Frown

Stormy_cat, I saw the Free cat Q and thought of you right away. Let me gather up all my inserts tomorrow & Tuesday to know how many I will have.
Stormy_cat - I just looked through my inserts - I have 2x$5 off Science Diet Naturals cat food in each insert, but no "free" food Q (unless these are them). If you want these, PM me and they are yours (I think I have at least 10 copies of the inserts).

Double - no covergirl BOGO in my inserts. Covergirl Ad, yes, but coupons, no Frown

no biggie. I don't even wear makeup. Was going to combine with the cvs deal this week to get em free and sell it at my fundraiser in Sept

I have 3 freestyle coupons here in your pile Trang, didn'te ven think about it. I'll try one tomorrow. We are stuck with the one touch until January as that's what they use in their program but I can still test the others in the meantime to see if we like them

Hope all is going well for you. Just got back from vacation and caught up for the most part. Hope your son is doing better doubles! All the monitors are about the same. The only real difference is the amount of blood needed and the length of time it takes to run the test. As long as you callibrate the machine to the number on the strips you should be in good shape. The doctor/ office gets reward points etc from the companies for using and recommending their products. Don't feel pressured into using what they tell you. As long as you test and treat your son according to the sliding scale and scheduled insulin. I know it is hard now--but it will get easier and he will adjust to it. I know that sounds trite--but have seen and taught enough families and kiddos through some of the hardest part of diagnosis and treatment. HANG IN THERE-- it does get easier. hug

Thanks. First I'll ask Trang-is there anywhere I can get it for free this week so silkypup doesn't have to go to p.o.

Guys-hang onto your contours, we're going to try that tomorrow as well. We didn't know that we could switch off. stupid people. That would be fantastic. Everyone has so many contour strips, between that and the one touch I'd definitely be all set until Jan

So far today on that board, we found 4 things that we can try tomorrow that the doc didn't tell us. Simple things like that he can eat more if he's hungry as long as it doesn't have carbs. We've been stopping at the carb levels and the kid was starving today after lunch. I also had no idea that we're supposed to wake him if he's missing snack. Or that I'm supposed to test before snack and during the night.
Or that there's another insulin that isn't time dependent. I'll have to ask about that.

Sam, The FreeStyle Freedom Lite meter is on sale for $9.99 at Walgreens this week. Use the $30 Q to get it for free (YMMV on overage) On the box, there is a MIR (YMMV on that too).

I finished my diapers finally, and I am so relieved to be done. My hubby and I were gathering things to pack and he said we should just buy diapes when we get there instead of packing them EEK! I said no way am I paying full price when we have so many diapes in the closet laugh out loud He agreed!!!

The 2nd T had a butt load of toys!!! Most still left from Friday night when I was there. I got a bunch more, mostly to donate or for other kids bdays! I did get another v tech v smile thingy, same as before, I am planning on giving that one as a bday gift. I just couldn't pass it up for $12.48. Then we got some stuffed Pooh bears, frog, and LPS dog. I found the FP fun 2 learn calculator toy for $3.xx and the Little Einstein Composer toy for $4.xx, Soph LOVED the Little Einstein toy and played with it throughout the store. Anyways, good load of toys and I got the hubby some xbox points card so he was happy as well!!!

I did SOBE at both stores Yahoo! Now I am hiding it so that our "house sitters" don't find it, does that make me bad? laugh out loud
