Well, they do get incentives but I think the reason for using one type only is for consistency. Each meter should read the same levels, but may not. I would do a testing back to back, using both meters. If you get the same reading from both, then use both. But if you see a varience between the two..just use one or the other. Six testings a day. Must be tough on him and you, not to mention expensive. Hope it gets better soon!

Double, you sound exhausted. Hope you get some good rest.
I am a lurker in this thread, but thought I would chime in.. I agree with the post above..
From working at the hospital, we usually don't allow patients to use there own meters due to consistency of results issues. They SHOULD all be very close, but many times are not. Alot of medical equipment could be like that as well. Often times when we need a very accuarate temperature due to blood transfusions and such, we make sure to use the same exact thermometer each time, even though they are the same model, just to make sure the consistency of results. so, I definitely don't think it would matter which one, just whatever is easier and you are most comfortable with.. but I would try to find one and stick with it IMO..
also, was gonna suggest checking with local diabetes resources.. My neice's daughter was diagnosed when she was 3.. she is 9 now. They struggle financially and have gotten alot of help from the juvenille diabetes foundation. They have gotten help to take vacations, med help, and other things, as well as finding resources such as summer camps that specialize in taking kids with diabetes.

Does anyone have those backpack toddler leashes?

My 20mo is so independant and active, with him being #4 he gets less freedom then the others did at his age because now I - - just have more kids then eyes or hands.

When it comes to Glucose meters, it is a known fact that any assay is less precise at the lower/higher end of its linear range. This may explain some of the inconsistency you are seeing. In a hospital I worked at there would be certain lots of strips that were for pediatric use only, due to their tendency for lower glucose values. Good luck Smilie

Can anyone point me to good current diaper deals.
PM if needed Smilie TIA

Double I dont think us East Coasters ever get the Cover Girl q's. I usually end up ordering them, because I do use their foundation.

So here's the funny thing about the CG MQs. I get the Baltimore Sun and the Washington Post. The Sun gets the CG Qs... the Post does not! This is basically in the same metro area!! Usually the Post has better MQs... but not with P&G.

Anyone else notice in today's P&G that it looks like they were reading our thread here-- Perfect 10 now comes in black! Clap

At least it looks that way. The ad part of that page says "Five new colors," and one looks black to me. But my eye sight is all blurry these days-- another fun side effect! (And I have to go to the eye doctor tomorrow, too. shake head )

I just packed ours into the diaper bag for our trip tomorrow laugh out loud We have this one [amazon.com] and Soph just LOVES it!!! She wears it a lot, not because we want her to, but because she asks for her pack-pack. Her nick name is monkey, and she has always loved them, so this model was perfect for her and she really loves it!!! I also like that the "leash" part can be detached and she can just wear it on her back. Also, there is a small pouch so she can store some stuff in it Smilie

BTW~ We got it at T Wink

My DD just turned 2 and I use one of the backpack leashes for her. I bought it at WalMart. It is a teddy bear one and it works great. They can still run, but not very far. They learn really fast how far they can go!! There is alot of people that look at you funny, but I dont really care as long as it makes my life a little easier!!

Hope that helps you!! bounce

I'm not doing the sobe deal this week. Sure I could have traded for the q's but just not in mood for GC deal right now. Too much work. Will head there sometime this week for a few rubbermaid totes and maybe those disney CD's. That's all I saw. I have to pick up some cotton balls and a few other random things as well.

I've got too much on my plate with the kid. I just spent past hour typing up all his meals, numbers and stuff. Boy did we screw up earlier this week. I've got an iron clad schedule starting tomorrow and the two boys are going to stick to it or else

Someone suggested just calling Abbott and they'll probably send me a freestyle to try. I don't mind the onetouch and with the strip situation, I already have a "few" and more on the way but if this one is easier, I'd love to just use it in mornings. That is the worst time to get blood out of him. And then we can try all 3 and see which one we like best. We went through 10 strips today alone (testing upped to 6x a day) so my stash will only last a month and a half, 2 months at best. Would be nice to be able to use one of the other 2 as backup but they told me not to switch around. I wonder why

Tired and sneezy, going to bed. Screw the sunoco guy, sorry to the folks I usually trade with, I'm just too tired to wait up for the extra inserts.

I need to buy Jello. Can't believe I traded all my Jello coupons. Which reminds me, tomorrow I'm going to post a list of all the piles of coupons I have here. Must get rid of some paper.

Do we need an intervention? It's been a while since the injurybounce
We only use the one touch, we've always been happy w/ it. Part of the reason why the drs might want you to only use it is downloading his sugars from it. Maybe all the meters do that now, but some years ago I was told by our dr. that it was the only one they could download (or I guess that would be upload?) all of his levels from the past 3 months and it their program could chart it. Then they can print you out a copy, you can see it graphed, much easier than just looking at your log book. Maybe they all are able to do that now, but that's what we were told way back when.

Oh, and when mine was little and still hungry (and now sometimes for that matter!) we always kept plenty of cheese and meat on hand. Even if it was cutting up or rolling up bologna! You DO have plenty of cheese in the freezer don't ya?laugh out loud And there was always hot dogs and ketchup! And bacon, OMG, he still could eat a pound of bacon if we'd let him. Not exactly great for his cholesterol, but hey, not a lot of options when they're picky eaters! Popcorn is great too, low carbs, they can eat more of that. And in case no one has told you, watch out for sugar free stuff, sometimes they have just as many carbs!

I used one with my son, He was a very hyper runner. AIl they had then was the elmo one--no backpack on it.
I agree, you get lotsa looks. But it's better than your kid getting lost. Mine took off @ target once, had my hands full with the baby during the XMAS rush. you cant see a little one under all those people ESPECIALLY by the cash registers. I just ran in for a gallon of milk. shake head they found him in the toy isle on the other side of the store. SCARY EEK! I bought a "leash" the next day and never left home w/out it.
He had a little trouble getting used to it. He'd run and fall, but after that it was great! I recommend them.

The pregnancy will do that to your eyes! It will usually return back to normal after delivery.

Oh and wanted to chime in on the Perfect10, seriously love this stuff, it is quick and doesnt smell and makes my hair really shiny and bright. I need to do a touch up soon, just had my hair cut, and want that look new feeling all over

I agree we need to pick one and stick with it. I ordered the free freestyle on line and we have the contour here. We'll try both and see. We are getting more used to the one touch and from looking at the contour, it's bigger and harder to hold.

I am going to see if I can get a different lancing device leter, which one do you use?

He won't eat cheese or meat unless it's mashed into something. And you can't mash into anything that's not carbs. Unless you can think of something. I am going to hit Target later to get some popsicle maker type things so he can have crystal light pops. We were told no popcorn, because of the choking hazard.

This may be a non coupon trip-rubbermaid totes, popsicle stuf, lancing device. I know there are no FF left or durex for overage unless they got it in today.

Can you come over and do it to my hair? I'm chicken and my roots are getting really bad. Will need to call my lady if I don't break out the P10 soon

I agree Trang, thats why I hide the SOBE for me! All the soft drinks in the house are diet, but I think the juices are the most sugary of them all! BTW...how many Sobes did you get today?
I got 100 Sobe & Aquafina bottles on Sunday at 2 Target stores. Then, got burned out (it was hot outside laugh out loud) and went home (it was lunch time). Was planning on going to the 3rd Target...

The main reason was - I feel bad making the good cashiers scanned 50 Sobe Qs at each store. It takes forever... and they're all going to hate me by the end of the week. Big Grin

I am still finding more Sobe tearpads as of today... EEK! I think I have at least 200 more Qs, but who's counting...Embarrassment
