I am still a little shaken up by the whole thing.

WHEW, good thing that happened.
Now that you mention it I took down my kitchen smoke detector like last month. Thanks for the reminder!

WG has Benefiber for potential overage. 72 ct of 'pill' format is on clearance for $3.29 or $3.79, depending on the store. Use the $2 off manu q first, then the $2 IVC q from their book. Also, Durex is a potential overage. Some products are $6.99. Use the $5 manu q and the $3 IVC q from their book. There are these interesting ones you put in the freezer.

WG also has the new Glade clothes freshener for $2.99. There's a printable $1.50 manu q and a $1.50 IVC in their book. They also have the Glade candle for $1.99, use $1 manu q and do the rebate for $1.00, making it free.

WG has the small bags of Dove candy 2/$5. Use the BOGO Dove manu q (printable, from awhile back) and the $1.50 manu q. That makes them $1, and there's a $1 RR you'll get back. Buy the dark chocolate varieties, and use your receipts to get movie tickets. I know it's 1 ticket for $12 of candy purchase, I think it's 2 tickets for $24.

And then there's the Axe travel size body wash, buy 4 at $1.59 each, get a catalina with a code good for two movie tickets. Someone said there's a $1 Axe coupon at Dollar General, but I was there today and didn't see any. I'd be VERY interested in getting my hands on a few dozen of these, if anyone happens to see a little box of them.
Wow, thanks for all the info! Will definitely have to try these out. Weren't there some Axe MFQs in the inserts recently?

Quote from calliebritt :
i so would be there once i knew they had been called....just because i know i'm right and now they know i'm right. go in with lots of coupons and smile smile smile. but that's just me!!
Yea, I know. I do need to go back in. Just waiting for a deal great enough to draw me in! Big Grin

Quote from suprneko :
A new one opened up around here a couple of months ago. Loved it! The flyer in that Sunday's paper had a Q for a freebie bag of poo, nail polish, and hair gel, got 2 of those...and the tearpads! They had the $6 Physician's Formula bronzer and $2 Sally Hansen depilatory, virgin and untouched, brought a tear to my eye. laugh out loud The SH depilatory stuff was bogo also, looked like a new store promo as it wasn't on the website - the first week it rang up bogo properly but the next week it rang up at 50% off + bogo! Bigeye The cashier said "well even if it's a mistake I still have to give it to you since the register scans it at that price". heart I went back several days later but they had fixed it by then. Ah well, their stock was pretty depleted by then anyways. I haven't been back, the prices/deals are not as good as you can get elsewhere, for the most part.

The tearpad Qs are enough to draw me in, 'specially since its very close to the grocery store that has the cheapest milk. Big Grin I can never find these Qs at the other drugstores around here, so that's a huge pull for me.

Quote from bblueskye :
Woah - you need shutterfly peelies from either the Spy Kids DVDs or Pirates of the Carribean DVDs at T (although they were under the shrink wrap in the POC DVD at my T)!!! Good for free 50 4x6 prints, 2 5x7s, and 1 8x10 from shutterfly (can be used for existing accts).
Big Grin
I have also seen these on one of the Princess Diaries movies, but again, inside the shrinkwrap.

Quote from sbhiggins :
Hi-- I know. Too many "helpful" posters Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) kept starting new threads and they all got merged. It's a huge mess.

So far I've been doing the Dove dark chocolate b/c I was afraid the stores would be wiped. And I did the Sure/school supplies, same reason (on the $.09 school supplies).

Tonight I'll go when my favorite cashier is working and do the Lifesavers and the Kelloggs.

Dove-- this is a pain b/c it's a RR deal so you have to do one set per transaction. Buy 2 bags (or also the "envelopes" that are about 6 oz work) of the Dove dark chocolate and use either 2 of the $1.50/1 Qs or (if you've got 'em) 1 $1.50/1 and 1 B1G1. You will get a $1 RR. Then enter your receipt for the rebate program and you will get $5 worth of credit towards a free movie tix. Do this 10 times and you will have 4 free movie tix. And some very PO'd cashiers!

Pert/Sure-- Pick out $5 worth (regular price) of the $.09 school supplies + $5 worth of Pert or Sure. Give them your highest value Pert or Sure MQs + the school supply Qs from the WAG flyer. Send in for the $5 MIR from last week's SS.

Kellogg's-- Buy 4 cereals that are good for the $5 RR deal + 4 or 5 (depending on which price point items you want) snacks that are good for that $5 RR deal. Then you need an extra one or two more items so you've got 10 for the Kellogg's rebate.

I'll use myself as an example. I'm going to buy 4 boxes of Special K (my favorite cereal) + 6 of the cheaper snacks. So my initial total OOP will be $22. Use your best Kellogg's Qs. I don't have any Qs on Kellogg's except the new ones from last week, so I'll be using 5 $1/2s. So then my total will be $17. I'll get 2 $5 RRs, and send in for the $10 rebate.

Lifesavers-- The bags are B1G1. Use your B1G1 qs to make them free.

I was going to skip the Glade deal b/c I have an entire overflowing cabinet of that stuff and I can't light candles anymore since my cats have this habit of sticking their whiskers in the candle and burning them off shake head but you can get the little candles for free just by using the $1/1 Qs and sending in for the rebate.

HTH! Or PM me (or S-momma Smilie) if you have more questions.
Thanks for the details on this - I am definitely going to try it out! Oh, and the Glade laundry refresher/whatever looks like Febreze! Never even seen it in the stores. Interesting.

Do you suppose the Vocal Point Special K Qs would work if I bought Smart Start? 'Cause then that would be $1/1, making the deal a tiny bit sweeter.

Okay, i am so sad, Can anyone suggest something? Christmas is a very hectic time of year for me and somehow I got a $2.99 rebate check right at the new year, I get a huge container from the post office between the 2-5 of the year every year, so this check was pulled and somehow didn't make it in with my usually stack of checks, so I just now refound it this mornig, it is dated 12/27/07 and says only good for 60 days, no phone number on letter or check, am i out the $2.99?

thanks,
i would probably try to cash or deposit it anyway. i had a paycheck once that got put in a drawer and i ended up finding it past the expiration date. (it was for a temp job, only 1 shift for costco inventory)
i didn't say anything about the expiration date when i went to the bank; i also didn't have any trouble. Big Grin
Quote from littleteapot :
Goodness...I am so glad everyone is fine. It is almost like a sign from above or something. Letting you know that the wire was melted before anything happened.

heart
same here. it's scary when stuff like that happens. hug

reminds me of the time my son stuck a ball in the water heater and the entire house broke out in ash everywhere from it. i came out of the shower to see all this ash floating everywhere and i'm like.. wtf?? grab my kid and go to my parents house. (didn't have a phone at the time and there was no visible fire)
brother came back with me and he's the one who found the burned, melted plastic/ foam/ rubber ball in the water heater. the water heater was thrashed and had to be replaced.
we were renters at the time and luckily knew someone at the water heater place. he put down that it seemingly blew up for no reason, so the landlord would cover the cost. Whistling

since then i definitely make sure that if the water heater isn't in an enclosed place, that there's a dog gate around it. and make doubly sure ds is no where around it.

on that note, always have to check the oven before preheating it. ds stuck a ball in that once too and i didn't know it was there. can you say.. fire in the hole? laugh out loud
i got to learn how to use a fire extinguisher!! it was a pain to clean that all up but the fire wasn't too bad - more flames than doing any actual damage at that point. the oven was fine afterwards. the water heater scenario was definitely scarier than the oven incident, because of all the ash everywhere and i didn't know where it was coming from.

So glad I have been saving $$ targeting but I guess it all comes in cycles because my savings just went to have neighbor's car door repainted.

DD was scootering with their dd when she hit a rock or something and stopped suddenly. DD went fell off and the scooter fell with her, just the right proximity for the handlebars to scratch the fire out of the car door about 3 inches long. 3 inches = $200.00

The sad thing is we've lived here a year now and with kiddos over every day and such we have had our fair share of dings, scratches, etc to car, toys broken, nailpolish dropped on carpet, drinks spilled on flooring, $95.00 stolen from kitchen counter, etc.

Not once have we ever been reimbursed or offered. Only once we got an apology. We estimated we are at or near the thousand dollar mark from damage done by other kids. Of course none of this damage was done by this neighbor's child.

This is the first time dd has ever caused damage to someone else's stuff (in 10 years mind you) and we were there in 10 minutes asking how much. We paid the next day.

So hopefully there's some good karma for the payment. We sure need it!!

You will appreciate this. I was digging around this morning looking for a folder to put our chicago stuff in (supposed to go 8/15-8/18 if we can get DS stable) and I found a drawer I forgot about of hidden toys for the holidays and his bday. Holy cow the kids pile for his bday and christmas is fantastic. bounce , Just need some books and maybe some music to round it out
So...I'm gonna be in chicago the 15, 16, and possibly the 17th. My mom and her fiance are getting married!! It's all very last minute. They have been engage for like a year...he lives in canada and the last time he came over to visit it turned into a month long fiasco before they would let him come here...so they met with a lawyer who said ok get married...like now! I have a huge dilemma though....My boss is going out of town that weekend and technically I'm in charge, he already ok'ed for me to take the saturday off, but that means i will have to drive 6 hours after i get off work friday, be there sat for the wedding...drive back either sat. night or sun. morning to work sunday night. Or I say screw it and take sunday off too and actually be able to enjoy some time. It's just so expensive to drive up there. I CAN'T not go, my mom would kill me, but I'm afraid if I take Sunday off the retards I work with will mess up shit and I'll get in trouble for taking off both days lol.

I'm usually in the loop with the WAG deals, but am totally lost at this point. It took me 1/2 hour last night to find this week's WAG thread b/c they renamed it "Free film" thread... Too many threads for the same week of deals....

I understand the deals, but can S-Momma or Sbshiggins lay out in specific items to buy and coupons to use. Right now, visualization works best. My head is flooded with Sobe life water and can't concentrate.

Thanks for any help.

Jen2882 - WAG has Speedstick on sale for $1.99 - $1 MQ = $0.99 each. Buy 8, get back $10 RRs. Overage of $2 (someone corrects me if this is not right)
Thanks!!! Gonna do this!

Quote from sbhiggins :
Oh right. I completely left out the Colgate RR deal. I just can't get excited about free--even w/overage deodorant. Too much deodorant. . . . . Ahhh!
What is the colgate deal???

I am looking for the .55 ziploc q's from this past Sunday's insert if anyone has extra to spare. I have q's to trade!

I do!! I won't use these so let me know if you still need them!

i'm gonna run to the store and hw peelie hunt...maybe look for nexxus q's.

So here is my PSA for the night. Make sure your smoke detectors are working. Be careful what and where you hang stuff on the walls and watch out for heaters.

I dont think I have ever been so happy to clean up a mess. Had it not been for the shelf falling I would have never seen the power strip, and who knows how long it would have lasted.

I am still a little shaken up by the whole thing.
hug
So glad you guys are ok... things like this always happen for a good reason. Any time I've gotten a speeding ticket I always try not to get upset because maybe it kept me from an accident or something.

Everyone be sure to hug and kiss their loved ones tonight!

Just wanted to drop in and confirm that this worked for me yesterday. yummy My only problem was lack of stock -- wanted a few more Pop Tarts. I might try a couple of bigger stores later on today to find more.

Here's my trip:

4 Kelloggs cereal (any on sale for $2.50 -- here, it was Smart Start, Corn Pops, Fruit Loops, Raisin Bran & Frosted Flakes)

6 Kelloggs "snacks" (any on sale for $2 -- can't remember all that was included; I was on the hunt for Pop Tarts and Rice Krispie treats)
------------
$22 BC - $5 MFQ from this weekend = $17 oop - 2 $10 RR = $7 - $10 mail-in = $3 profit!

I did this deal twice for two different rebate forms. Whee

Thanks to all who help w/the WAGs deals! Worthy They were never cost-effective for me before due to distance... then I learned there's a small one just a couple blocks from where I started working! Yahoo! (In fact, I learned that just in time for the diaper double-dip! Evillaugh)

ETA: Also wanted to confirm the Axe movie ticket deal...

Overage of $2 (someone corrects me if this is not right)
okay everyone, thanks for the Wags discussion! totally helped me a lot. my Wags is way over on the other side of town so i don't get the ad here. always have to really on online sources (their website ad is hard for me to view - its small on the page). that said i got in on the free kelloggs, and 20 speedsticks since i had 20 coupons to use up.
i bought 10 speedsticks per transaction. yes i know that killed my profit, but its my fave kind of deodorant and likely last chance to get it for less than tax only before that coupon expires on the 16th. Stick Out Tongue

amazingly there was still a bunch of stuff to choose from. quite a good selection of kelloggs left. and both stores i went to had at least 40 - 50 qualifying speedsticks in stock between all the different flavors.

now i need to work on what deals i should scheme up with these $30 in RR's i now have. bounce

Yes, you should at least split up the Speedstick into 2 transactions to get that extra $10 RRs.

With RRs, buy filler stuff + GC, and use your RRs to pay for it.

Remember, you must have the same amount of Qs & RRs to the same amount of RRs used. There is a way around that a little, give 1 RR 1st and that should allow you 1 less item to buy.

....My boss is going out of town that weekend and technically I'm in charge, he already ok'ed for me to take the saturday off, but that means i will have to drive 6 hours after i get off work friday, be there sat for the wedding...drive back either sat. night or sun. morning to work sunday night.
I vote for you to hand pick one of those 'tards and decide that they CAN be in charge, and can be depended on. Then, talk them up, get them to believe it's important, offer them something they want in return. Maybe something from your stash, or to trade shifts sometime when they need off?

I would bet one of them could/would do it if given the incentive. And you deserve the time off. heart

Technically we have a tard that is in charge when me and my boss are both not there...but i call him retarded for a reason lol.

I was totally into taking Sunday off UNTIL tonight...we had a wedding rehearsal and dinner tonight so I left work early today.

We are literally pulling up to the church and my work starts calling me non-stop. So I figure I better answer it. Long story short three of the girls got into a screaming match, lots of tears, anger, insults, and yelling lol. I had to spend the first 10 minutes of the rehearsal outside on my cell phone smoothing things over so they could at least work together without killing each other.

Ok, totally rocking thing happened to me today! Dh and I did not realize until today that the rehearsal and dinner were dressy casual. Khaki's and button up for him and sundress for me. Uhm....I don't freakin own a sundress. So I sneak out into the mall to look for a dress at work...no go. I really didn't want to spend the money on a dress for one night so I was not feeling it at all. Sooooo in a last ditch effort I ran into walmart to see if they had anything half way workable. I found a cute teal sundress, right size, for like $16.02 after tax...not bad but still kinda pissed I have to spend $16 on a dress for 5 hours. So I run to the self check out, put my money in.... grab my change, shove it in my pocket and go. Get home bla bla bla, go to put my change in my purse and guess what?? Instead of $4.00 there was $24.00!!! I'm guessing someone did not take their change or the machine screwed up but I got paid $4.00 for the dress I didn't really want!!! (But have now decided is super cute and totally worth it lol)
