Had a couple questions for those out there who might know the answers!

1) Has anyone used the TQ peelie for Goodnites that exp 8/31/08? Wanting to know if it beeps expired or if it still works.

flugette....the Nerds one says "checker intervention" when I deocde it on dealideal.com. The coupon itself is not in the database yet, but the numbers bring up intervention.

Worked okay as of Saturday....

I go through the same thing too Ariel. We are a rare breed Most people don't want to invest the time...I tried to teach my sis, neices, etc. They don't want to take the time to do it, they just want me to tell them when there is a good deal. At first I did, but I don't anymore. Now, when they say "why didn't you tell me about....", I just say, you can find the same info I can...'feed a man fish and he eats one meal, teach him how to fish and he eats for a lifetime..' I took them all shopping, showed them how to read q's, and told them about my q sites..now it's up to them.

Ariel, they think I am crazy at work too. I gave a coworker the tearpad of Krafts and wrote out what to do...We even had BOGO on the hotdogs, so she would have gotten twice the items. She left them in her locker. WTF!! I could have given them to one of my internet friends is all I was thinking. When I got all those Luvs and then the Pampers they wanted me to give them for free...I told them HELL NO!!!...$5pk for Luvs and $1.50 for the huggies, $3.00 pampers wipes and the Pampers diapers are for me...So now they know to see me on payday if they want anything. I had to tell them I am paying for school out of pocket and this is my part-time job. On top of me having a full time job.. I just stop tellin them. I work at the grocery store, so everytime I work they see me with my little black coupon box and ask what good deals am I a getting. I say none really..

I have even made friends with the coke, pepsi, and nabisco vendors...They give me coupons and tearpads when they get them...

Ariel - Their loss.. they could be putting away lots of money for holidays, emergency funds, Christmas...You're just SMARTER than them...
I've told a few people and they just don't get it... then like alot of you, they just want me to give it to them free... I did at first, not anymore... no thank you's or here's a few bucks to get some extra papers - so nothing for them anymore.
I told my sister and she's just to uppity to clip coupons... she see's it, she buys it.. doesn't check prices on anything... But hey, she will now buy from me "to help me out"..
I'm not proud I'll take her money...

Oh, hey---I wonder if we could use this in the store? Just think, it'd be great to drive off reds and other shoppers from aisles with a bunch of peelies...or to make sure you get that item you really want on Black Friday (though I'm not sure this would deter some of those rabid bargain hunters...).

i have this problem too. my entire family knows that i'm doing well at couponing now, and they all expect me to just give away my free crap to them. umm.. i have my immediate family to provide for first. and also, the time and effort i put into it is worth a lot more than just giving the stuff away. i don't mind giving them a few toiletries here and there or whatever. but there's no WAY i have the time and energy (and indeed not enough store locations to avoid smash n grabbing!) to do this for freaking everybody i know.
for whatever reason, no matter how many times i've tried to explain to them. or how to do the deal, even so far as to pass over a few coupons to do it. they just don't get it or aren't willing to do it.

i've been a sahm for almost 6 months now. in the last 6 months, dh and i made a huge payment to get my car paid off - and we are about to do the same again to completely pay off his. we would never have been able to do that if i had kept working. between daycare and other work-related expenses (such as gas) i was basically like another poster said, bring home a whole whopping MAYBE $50 a week. it wasn't worth it to me to keep working for so little. so i quit and could then put more time into the couponing.

my family knows i can afford to be a sahm because of the coupons. wth makes them think i'll be able to afford providing for both me and mine as well as them and theirs? so now i just don't even try to help them anymore because they seem to think i'm crazy (even though its obvious how much we save). the only family i still bring stuff to is my parents.

i think a lot of the attitude we get from other people about the coupons is because they've never done it themselves, and just can't fathom how much it really takes to get into it and do it well. so.. they see paying $.25 for an item you got for free as being fair because all they see is you got it for free. umm, no. you had to buy the newspapers, you had to cut the coupons, you had to figure out the deal, you had to drive to the store, you had to shop the aisles, wait in line and possibly hassled by a cashier over coupon usage. those are things that make the item NOT free. i just haven't come up with a polite way of explaining that to these kinds of people.

that's actually priced reasonable well for how big it is. i think dh needs one. and that soap.. that is just too much.

Okay, folks, I need help with this TGI Friday's coupon. I have had a couple of kind SD'ers send me this baby (THANKS!!!), but it will NOT scan. Not at Wal-Mart (SCO or otherwise), not at Hy-Vee...I don't even wanna TRY it at Target.

Anyone got a sure-fire scanner? I'm printing in color on a laser, so it's not that (all others scan fine---well, except for about half of my Pop-Tarts TQ, but that seems to be the norm).

That is absolutely hilarious. I don't know that I'd have it in me (pun sorta intended) to do this, but I'd love to be there to watch.

When I waited tables in college, some of the guys used to joke about "crop dusting" as they walked past tables when a couple was obviously on a date. Then watching as the couple looked at each other, each thinking it was the other person who let one go. I still get tears of laughter when I think about that....
