geez and I complain about my 30-45 minute ride to Target. I think I'll be

If anyone needs stuff from yesterdays inserts, let me know. I'm cutting for Trang, Pretzels, Slickcate at lunchtime. Please PM what you need and if it's not already taken, I'll add it to the list.

Just thinkin this morning when cuddling with my kid how grateful I am for him, DH, our house, our life and SD. Without all the deals/coupons you have all shared with me, we would be in a much worse place now. We all would be--look at stormy, she hasn't seen her mom in 5 years and now she can. lots here have great stories like that. OK we all get sappy every so often, that was my sappinessSmilie

ohhh who was that, someone's kid was selling it--hmmm you may want to post this in deals if you haven't already

Aww...that made me feel all warm and cuddly inside. I totally agree with you!

I would heart any glade's or the bliss you aren't going to use.

Ok, it's time for my nightly whine session lol. I swear to god I'm really not a miserable person....I came back with a really positive attitude at work from my vacation and I swear to god they are just trying to wear me down. Soo....we do special events at work and the manager's running the event gets a bonus for it. Generally it is split between the mgr on the floor and the projectionist, as they both do work. Well for this particular event we had satellite interruptions due to weather and I had to deal with a lot of irate customers and it was just not a pleasant experience. I knew that the bonus had been submitted by one of the other manager's working that night so I had been waiting for it to show up on my check.....well check's for friday were in the computer today and guess what?? STILL no bonus. I did a little research and the two other manager's working that night (they were both projectionists) took the bonus.

I'm really upset and frustrated about this and I really don't think my boss is taking me seriously. My share of the bonus is like $40. That may not seem like a lot to him b/c he makes 90 grand a year but when you are trying to support a family on one income 40 is a lot. That's diapers for a month...or groceries for two weeks, or a tank of gas, or you get the point. I did confront the manager about it and he told me that he didn't think I would get mad. Uhm hello what entitles you to take my money??? Ok, I have to stop thinking about it because now I'm getting upset all over again!

I hate working with teenagers.

I love what I do (taking care of ppl) , but hate the environment, does that make sense? I am really trying to work on a more positive outlook on life, but it is easy to get pulled back into crap Sadwalk

I'm confused...The Smuckers deal that people are talking about is for ice cream toppings? The TQ says $1 off Smuckers fruit spread...Has it been used w/o beeps on the ice cream toppings? I have some MQ's for those, so I'd love clarifiacation. TIA!!

There are 2 Pantene coupons in the P&G insert this week. The $1.00 off any , and the $2.00 off long hair something. BOTH coupons work on the GC deal. I used 3 of the $2.00 off coupons today even though I did not buy what was listed on the MQ. Worked no beeps.

I'm going to West Burlington, IOWA for Christmas this year. I have a 4 year old and a 20 month old. If anybody knows, what kind of clothes, shoes should I purchase?? I know it's cold but what would you guys recommend? Certain things that are must haves' for that weather. I live in Fresno, CA and it doesn't get very cold here so I am clueless.

If you guys can help me out I would really appreciate it. I don't want to over-pack because it is $25 per bag, and after paying over $2,000 for airfare, I really don't want to spend too much money. Thanks!

Pack WARM seriously, I've lived in Nebraska/Iowa all my live and it gets cold. Plus if your kids haven't seen snow, they'll want to play in it so, mittens, gloves, heavy coats, warm pants, longsleeved shirts and sweatshirts. Just bring a few warm things and plan to do laundry.

Maybe you should start looking for another position, doing the same thing only somewhere else.

I was actually looking for a new job last week, but I am not sure how that would work since I still have restrictions from my work comp injury. Most nursing jobs you need to be able to lift around 50#'s (even if you never actually have to) and I am limited to 10#'s right now. I also have a few other limitations, so I am not sure I could get another job Dontknow

I didn't know that you were on a work restriction. Maybe that's their problem. That you don't have to do everything they do. You may have to wait. Try your best to block it out and rise above. Even though you are there for a good many hours of your day, remember, it's your job. The things that are most important in your life are at home. Smilie

One word.....FAST PASS!! I have relatives who live near Disney...they have been schooling me on Fast Pass technique. laugh out loud

This winter, (or next summer) our DS is going to Disneyworld, thanks to the incredible Make A Wish foundation.

We actually have put this off for a long time, because we didn't feel comfortable accepting such a gift. But a trip out of town changed that last winter. We decided to bring the kids to a nearby city in the winter to stay in a hotel and swim in the pool. As we drove into the city, I pointed out the hotel that we would be staying at. My DS (5 years old at the time) looked at us and said "Is that the hospital we're staying at this time?"
Needless to say, DH and I looked at each other and then he said...send the paperwork in.

We figure no child can confuse Disney World with a hospital.

I've had good luck finding decent airfare prices here:
http://www.kayak.com
We've ended up flying quite frequently for our DS's healthcare, and if you can get around the ads on this site they will post all airfare available for your trip. Also...try to fly on Tuesday-Thursday.

awww sending hugs to you and your son

Actually Ariel I did have a job I loved when I lived in NJ and have it up when I got engaged and moved here.

I was a Medical Assitant in Radiation Oncology. I had the most wonderful co workers and a boss that was wonderful too. Although there is sadness and I lost a lot of patients, there were the few that made it.

I had a patient that was wonderful, he and his wife had an amazing love for each other. He coded one day while getting chemo and was in a coma and out in ICU and was expected to pass. This was a week before Christmas. I went up to the hospital on Christmas eve to drop off cookies to his wife and family and well say my goodbyes. I cam back to work teh day after Christmas, and there was a note taped to the door of our dept telling me to go up to Icu Mrs M**** needed me. I go up to the room expecting the worst and there he is Mr M**** sitting up in bed and calls me over and says Merry Christmas Heather, I loved the cookies. I cried like a baby, it was the best Christmas present ever. He did pass a few months after that with his wife by his side. they got him a large hospital bed in the Icu and she climbed in there with him, it was a very sad moment but also very sweet.

Like the guy that had throat cancer, and was having trouble w eating, and I jkept pushing him to try new things. He was very angry at the time, and was very stubborn. He eventually got done his treatment and was eating. On his last day he brought me flowers. Every year on the aniversary he sent me flowers at work. That is just one example.

I have many cards and letters from patients and families saying how I touched their lives when in fact it was the other way around.

So yes I did have a job I loved and I still miss it, but I havea very important job now and wouldnt trade it for the world.

So hang in ther Ariel, Jen and Terri, you guys are awesome
