anyone been snorkeling off of San Pedro, Belize?

We are going to Belize in January, and while we can do some snorkeling in the waters in front of our resort, we would like to plan at least on excursion to the reef. Has anyone here been, and if so, what would you recommend or not recommend? Also, any other tips about the island?

Awe, thanks, my furry friend! hug Guess there aren't any snorkelers in the lounge. Sadwalk There's so many things from which to choose so I'm really looking for some first hand advice.

My wife and I have been snorkeling and diving in Belize, but it was a decade ago, so any advice I could give would be clouded by the fogs of time. Plus, I've drank a great deal of tequila and craft beer since then. Oh, and I had two kids so my memory is basically shot.

In fact, I just had to ask my wife if we really did go diving and snorkeling in Belize in 2007 and she said that we did. So I at least got that right.

Yes. Went to two spots. One was full of nurse sharks (think they called it shark alley), other was sea turtles and manta rays and fish mostly.

Stayed at coco beach resort. You're gonna love Belize

Ate at Rain. Very tasty.

Also a small place in SAN Pedro with a dirt floor. So good. Curry coconut shrimp, I think. Ate their like 4 times. Trying to remember the name.

This was in 2015

I would love to see the turtles and the rays, but sharks really freak me out. I say the tour of Shark Alley, just don't know if i could hang.
