I just bought the R-112SW for 430ish. I was waiting for the weekend to set it up and now I am staring at the unopened box thinking if I should swap it, provided i can reserve one before it sells out.

That is exactly what i was thinking. Is the R-115SW that big of a monster in sound that people claim? Comparing it to the 112, do i really need to worry about the roof caving in or the cops knocking on the door?

Well, you might need to worry about that anyways with the 112 depending on your neighbors, what you're listening to, and how you're listening to it. My whole 4000sqft house shakes with the two R112SW I have.

I ain't skeered of big woofers. Hard core classic rock fan, ran two Cerwin Vega 415Rs (3 way with 15" woofer) for 30 years with 250 wpc RMS power amplifier. Those speakers rock the house for Who, Led Zepp and ZZTop. Bigger concern was loss of hearing rather than home structural damage.
Besides, I will need something (or someone) with big woofers to curl with up in front of the fire once my wife divorces me after tomorrow's credit card bill!
I missed the R-112SW $219 deal last month - was it a one-of-a-kind deal or is it likely to repeat often if I wait for a few weeks? Does the R-110SW also go on similar deals. Thanks!

Hahahaha. Point taken. Thanks.
Good luck to you with the wife/something/someone (with big woofers)!

It is not like you can't turn it down. With woofers, you should have some extra power so they don't fart out on you with distortion anyhow. Plus the 15" will handle the bass with more control, I.e. Be tighter.

My hearing's already shot so no risk there. Two R-115SWs it is. If I can get two of them shipped then I will definitely be upgrading. My only excuse right now not to do it is the huge PITA it will be to bring them monsters home. If I can eliminate that part then the neighborhood should prepare to feel my wrath.

Thanks. Its my first time experimenting. Just unpacked the Marantz 7010 and that is the breadth of my experience! The two RF-82 II are still in their box. So any kind of tip is much appreciated.
You got me thinking. I'm still within the 30 day return window on my R-112SWs. Might just swap them both out for two R-115SW subs tomorrow. 19x20' room with a 17' high ceiling. Got the two R-112s asymmetrically positioned at the front of the room, in line with the RF-82 II towers (for now). Overkill?
God, will my promocode afflication ever end?
Same grabbed two 112sw, now I'm going to put them into the kids bedroom and get these for our bedroom! My wife sure loves yelling at me these days

What's great about the 115sw is the frequency that it hits. For $400 it's really hard to beat.
What SVS are you referring to at $399? The lowest priced SVS subs are $499. The holiday priced SB12-NSD is still available for $399 form a couple of 3rd party vendors on Amazon, but that sub is small and sealed, totally different animal than the R-115sw. The closest comparable SVS sub is the PB-2000, which is $800. Now I would take a SVS over a Klipsch any day, but if I could get the R-115sw for half the price of the PB-2000, that's a deal I would take every time.

That is a no brainer as long as you can get one.
