Ring was handing out online coupon codes for their site. The reps stated it would run thru this Sunday Jan 10th at least:

I had a Ring and now rock a Ring Pro. The Ring does lag with motion detection. The Ring Pro is absolutely fantastic, though; it is smaller, and supports creating 3 custom zones for motion detection. The Ring Pro's live view is obviously compressed to ~720p, but the recorded video is 1080p.
$30/year for cloud recording should not be a concern for most.
