Ring was handing out online coupon codes for their site. The reps stated it would run thru this Sunday Jan 10th at least:
$50 off Coupon Code: RINGCES2017

Hope this helps some folks.

This Discount should work on their soon to be released 1080p Floodlight Cam selling for $249 before $50 discount = $199 final price

Does not support local storage. Recording REQUIRES 30/year subscription. Stop asking

According to reviewers, the Ring Pro is better in every way except for free cloud storage.
I have skybell and it is horrible. The motion detection is lagging and I get the back of every delivery person walking away from the door. The intercom is horrible. There is a loud static noise whenever it is used. Performance wise, how can Ring be worse than Skybell.

If Skybell doesn't perform, who cares if it has free cloud storage.

does anyone know if you can use a ring doorbell to a local recording solution like blue iris? or is cloud recording the only option?

just curious, but why would anyone choose the ring doorbell over the skybell which is better in almost every way and includes free cloud recording?

I had a Ring and now rock a Ring Pro. The Ring does lag with motion detection. The Ring Pro is absolutely fantastic, though; it is smaller, and supports creating 3 custom zones for motion detection. The Ring Pro's live view is obviously compressed to ~720p, but the recorded video is 1080p.

$30/year for cloud recording should not be a concern for most.

I am interested in their upcoming Floodlight Cam. But if you want record the video you have to pay for their cloud service?

Yes. $30/year. Multiple device discount should be coming soon.

The RINGCES2017 code works for the Stick Up Cam, too.

Is the stick up cam any good? Want something that is non technical for my mom and just works. The amcrest cams are decent but way too complex.

If that go pro for $100 promo comes back I may jump next time. Passed on it last time and think I'd like to try the better motion detection of the ring pro over the ring.
