My comments: seems like this is built identical to the Spectre x360 (skylake) but made for Costco in some way such that it has a USB-C port, newest i7 kabylake, and the updated/newest logo ("HP", not "Hewlett-Packard" writing on the laptop). It's like a hybrid between the old and new Spectre x360. The color is a darker gray called turbo silver (not shiny silver).

just fired it up right now and it's doing all that windows updating stuff. probably best to just read the reviews online at costco for now. but build quality is very nice. no creaking or flex in the chassis. but with this QHD+ screen, i'm wondering what the real-time battery life will be. i usually keep my brightness around 60%. time will tell.

btw, use your costco visa to pay for it and you get 4 years warranty.

I wouldn't say it's "Built for Costco", this is how this one is equipped [anandtech.com]. The specific configuration might be made especially for Costco though.

Considering $849 was the intro price on the Core i5-7200U, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD, an FHD panel model, this looks really promising at $899. This model is the i7-7500, 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD, and the QHD panel.

Especially a 2-in-1 with a real i7, rather than some limp m3/5/7.

I was looking for a laptop and wondering paying additional $400 for hp spectre x360 laptop on BB, and I don't see much difference with options. Any advice if I can buy this one?

The spectre has much smaller screen bezels and is an upper tier machine with a great aluminum build. If you don't really care too much for aesthetics, this would be a better buy than the spectre for 400 more.

Have you given this a try yet and can you give us your impressions? I looked for this model at my local Costco a week or two ago but they didn't have it on display.

I'm tempted to just order it online sight-unseen given how easy returns at Costco are, but would appreciate hearing your thoughts about it.

Good price for the specs, but I much prefer the thinner bezels on the newer Spectre -- picked up one of those for my girlfriend at Thanksgiving for a "better" (see below) price than this. Hers has 512gb SSD but only FHD screen (QHD not available on the Spectre, to my knowledge)...

HP Spectre x360 - 13-w063nr
13.3" diagonal FHD IPS UWVA WLED-backlit multitouch-enabled edge-to-edge glass (1920 x 1080)
i7-7500U
16 GB LPDDR3-1600 SDRAM (onboard)
512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
2.85 lb

Was $1,034.99 out the door from HP, but ordered thru Perks@Work with 30x points, so got back ~$300 in P@W points.

No they don't. Look at reviews of machines running core-m cpu's, they don't get any better battery life. The advantage is that they can be run with passive cooling so no fans are required. I'd argue that core-m actually has pretty poor battery life.
