How to sell a piano? (Minimal OT)

Can anyone give me some HELPFUL advice on how to sell my Baldwin baby grand piano without going through a dealer who is going to take half of what it sells for?

Perhaps a local music store? We have a couple music stores (instruments) that buy/sell used instruments. You're not going to get top dollar for it - because you're selling to a reseller, but you'll get rid of it quickly. If you wait it out, put out an ad, etc, you'll probably get more but also wait a lot longer to get rid of it.

How does the shipping work? When we had it shipped from Georgia to VA we had to find our own company and it cost $900.

Same as anything else, you can either put in what the actual shipping cost is, or include it in the price and offer "free" shipping. I think anyone buying a used baby grand on there has an idea about the complexities of transport laugh out loud

A dealer might take a bit more of the selling price but they also might be able to sell it for a higher price than an individual. If they are experienced in moving pianos they might also be able to do the delivery cheaper and possibly be able to do any tuning needed after the move.

Haven't read SD's TOS lately...we might have to refer to chewy as "she" if chewy identifies as such.
