Before installing Windows 10 be sure to boot up Steam OS and login to your Steam account. The free games that are included with the system will then be added to your Steam account so you can install them under Windows 10 once you have that installed.
gamestop website lists wrong specs for their product (their specs are for the Alienware Alpha ASM100-7980 which would come with windows 8.1 and 2TB hdd)

actual product you will receive is a model Alienware Steam Machine ASM100-6980BLK

Intel Quad Core i7-4785T 2.2 GHz Processor
8 GB DDR3L SDRAM RAM Included; 16 GB Maxium
1 TB HDD Storage; Optical Drive Not included; 5 USB Ports

That's why you look at benchmarks... this i7 "tenderly slow" crunches numbers better than skylake i5 6400 nod

I bought one of the i7s last time it was on sale. I'm very happy with the purchase after I put Windows 10 on it (bought a key on eBay for 7 bucks). Steam OS is just too limited.

yes. putting Windows 10 on was easy. Took an hour. Followed directions by searching on YouTube. There's benchmarks out there, but with personal play I can play 1-2 year old AAA games on high or ultra high settings. Newer games around medium. This is the i7.

Bought the i7 Black Friday. Loaded Windows 10 and put a 512Gb Samsung in it. Runs like a champ. I use it mainly for virtuals but I've played Gears of War and Overwatch just fine at 1080p. Haven't really measured fps on it, but looks and plays smooth.

Insane price!

Been using my i3 alienware alpha for over a year. For those too lazy, the i7 will yield only 10-15% more FPS in games. Get the i7 if you need cpu power (photoshop, video editing, etc). The best upgrade for this machine is definitely to throw in a SSD. There's videos all over YouTube for it.

I use an Alienware Alpha as my everyday work PC for general IT work. I don't game on it, but I love it.
