I called Wells Fargo to confirm the deal. My wife was envious when I got a fat check from the previous deal.
I showed my sympathy by calling to confirm the deal is still around. They renewaled it.

did they inform you that your card was sent?
They are desperate for customers.
Card arrived yesterday Monday 3/13/17 called and activated. Still waiting on pin so can't access account online yet.
Did 10 GC reloads on Amazon alternating $0.50 and $1 within 10 minutes and card did not lock up. Since these were all transactions without pin will have to wait until pin arrives to log on and see how they post credit or debit.
If debit hopefully bonus appears by Friday then go into local branch and close account.
If not will do 10 $1 debits with pin at target self checkout and wait for bonus. If not deposited by 4/1/2017 will do 10 more to avoid any possible fees even though PP states no fees first 64 days.
Was just about to open an account.

let's see if they honor the offer.
I made the mistake of signing up not knowing there are no consumer branches within 90 miles of me. kind of makes me nervous.

Same for my family and a few friends - all no Wells Fargo in our city or state (St. Louis, Missouri). All got rewards immediately. Just sent a secure message to close the account and was closed next day.

ya I used my actual zip code and it was fine. I searched st.lous too, as I spend a lot of time there, no dice. but if it comes to where not having a branch is a problem I guess I'll close it. though I always feel guilty like I owe them something for the bonus.
