I called Wells Fargo to confirm the deal. My wife was envious when I got a fat check from the previous deal.
I showed my sympathy by calling to confirm the deal is still around. They renewaled it.

No reason to get stuck with some eco-box. Do it right at a $25000 deposit for a $250k car. Cool
Well, when the pulling starts it is usually soft, and then it gradually gets hard as the pulling continues. Then once you have "credited" all over it gets soft again and that is when the pulling stops.
Can confirm that's the deal breaker for you.

I was able to apply for the promotion, but was waiting for my application to be approved. My account was approved after the link expired. Do I still qualify for the promotion?

have you gotten an email stating you qualify for the bonus, or when you were signing up?

They knew people were gaming this deal the last time they offered it, but they were desperate enough for new accounts to offer it again. They either met their quota, or somebody with some common sense and authority finally stepped in and stopped this madness. laugh out loud

it's Wells Fargo, there is nobody in charge, they are bleeding customers and profit. WF has such a long and rich history, now it's like San Francisco.

Most big banks offer these bonuses, I got one from Chase about a year ago for $300, but the qualifications were stricter, but Chase has been pretty dang helpful with excellent customer service (by phone anyway). and they have locations pretty much everywhere the population is over 10,000.

it's Wells Fargo that's been doing the scamming lately, though nobody beats some slick dealers in here.

Instead of just making normal transactions you put in a bunch of tiny Amazon gift card payments, risking a fraud alert...wow. no wonder Wells Fargo pulled the deal, always a supplier in the bunch.

I was more focused on the money they're going to give me. I don't need much customer service on an account that sits to the side for a couple of months. Compared to the hoops we (people on this site) jump through with cc companies to get points worth $500 (hard credit pull plus spend $3k to $5k within a time period to get the points a month to 4 months down the road) I think this is a no brainer to sign my wife and me up.

I understand because I was going to do the same thing but I wasted over 2 hours on the phone last night. I was told I was eligible for the promotion before opening the account, but after completing the application online and Wells Fargo doing a soft pull of my credit, I was then told I was not eligible for the promotion. I spoke to 5 different representatives that all told me I was eligible. One particilar rep told me that after I opened the account, the application department would then apply the promotional code. After being transferred to the application department they said there was nothing they could do because I didn't go through the link. If the representatives would of just told me upfront that I could only get the promo through the link I would of just said oh well and moved on. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and they don't back up the customer. $250 isn't a ton of money but they hit my credit and lied to me. It's just really bad customer service. The only company that I can think of that is this bad is Ebay. Anyhow, thanks for listening to me rant and I do hope you get the promotion. Have a great day.

I hear you. I haven't called them yet but will get what they say in writing or not waste my time. If you're married maybe try again if it's worth your time. Thanks for sharing. Sorry it didn't work out for you.
