Didn't have a chance to look at the photos yet. We went to bed early last night so we could get up early enough to do a day trip to Mt. Rainier. Had a great time although even at Paradise (high elevation) it was a bit too warm with the sun beating down on you. The scenery, the alpine flowers were just beautiful. We did an easy hike to see a grove of ancient trees, some of which are over 1,000 years old and over 50 feet around. Just amazing. Too tired to load (or view) photos tonight, took all my energy and focus just to type this up.

BTW, why in the heck did Washington state feel the need to have six, yes that's right SIX state routes starting with 16_ (three digits) all meet or almost meet each other and/or connect up to other numeric (one, two or three digit) state routes in or near the town of Enumclaw and/or it's neighbor Puyallup? We took an accidental 30 minute detour due to this dizzying array of similar and nearby three digit routes.

State routes: 161, 162, 164, 165, 167, 169 as well as (just for grins) 509, 512, 410, 99, 9 and 18.

going out at night isn't the same as it used to be

weird little night, definitely didn't go the way I thought it might the new place, Banger's Sausage house and beer garden is pretty good, at least. more like an actual sit down restaurant than a bar, which is a nice chance compared to the other bars on the street (most of which don't even serve food).

way past my bed time now, I'm going to go pass out

it's taken a couple of hours, but my hard drive upgrade on my laptop seems to be successful. upgraded to a 500GB hybrid drive with a 4GB SSD, from a slickdeals frontpage deal I'm hoping for some improved performance, that laptop is getting to be pretty slow anymore

120+ updates, and now Vista has gotten around to installing SP2...

I've been entering C&S all evening, which is really cutting into my PWing time. Just hope I win a few things for all this effort. Haven't had time to load the Mount Rainier pics off the camera either.

I sold my old Bianchi Eros today. I ended up selling it for $300, despite listing it on CL for $375. I probably could have held out for another buyer to sell it for more, but I just wanted to get that done with while I had the ambition to finally get it done. I should have sold it two years ago when I moved here

I watched Charlie St. Cloud today, which I had recorded ages ago on a free preview weekend. i'm not opposed to the sappy movie story line, but this one I just couldn't get behind. the double dream inception style story just made me hate it

At least I'm clearing out space on my DVR. I also got through the entire 10 episode summer season of Rizzoli and Isles. No idea why I like that show, but I do, and I keep watching it. at least with that watched and the olympics over, my DVR is less than 2/3rds full for the first time in over a month

We're still going through the West Wing episodes and are almost done with season three. DH was messing with my computer today and I was busy entering C&S's so never got a chance to download our photos or look at yours. Will do all of that on Monday, while DH is back at work. It was nice having him home this week. Next up on the agenda is to do the Pacific Coast/Olympics trail. Will probably wait until school is back in session so hotel prices will be cheaper and the roads/beaches less crowded.

DH set up my old computer so I could play some of the vintage games like Grim Fandango.
