I had a Steam Deck and it was kind of nice but I wasn't a fan of the trackpads and unfortunately just didn't like the restriction of being on Linux. Valve does a great job with SteamOS but I felt like there were too many games I couldn't play, especially since I like playing gamepass and my EGS collection.
I see $250 for excellent only.
It doesn't matter to me much I always travel with a power bank and mostly I play on my couch or at the airport and hotel. No biggie

The Ally is more powerful but it isn't the best choice for people buying it strictly for emulation.
Planes have plugs on the seats so you could technically play without a power bank. $300 is a great price for an OLED portable emulator machine.
For those of you buying the open box excellent, the three free months of game pass nearly cancel out the savings.
