We drink a lot of carbonated water in our family and got tired of spending money for the tiny tanks. I have an adapter from Amazon (or eBay, can't remember) to use my own food grade CO2 tank. I had it filled twice in about 5 years for about 40 bucks each time. Cost of the tank plus the first fill is almost the price of this whole set, but the tank will last you years, especially if you don't drink a lot.
From what I understand there are two types of connections on the soda streams, the quick connect adapter like this one has and a threaded one. There are standard hose connections and then upgrades like braided hoses and gauges. US tanks threads are typically CGA320 and euros are W21.8-14. Links below. I got the exact same one on Amazon from aliexpress and saved a few bucks. I fill my tanks at a local brewery or the welding supply which offers beverage grade co2. 5lb tanks cost ~$85 filled and refills are ~$25 near me in ATL. When you go to get them refilled they just swap the tank with a filled one. Make sure you also have a c02 alarm in the house in case of a leak.
I wonder if it switched 0600 EST. I spent too many minutes guessing the best color lol
Does anyone prefer the old style canisters for ease of off brand swapping? Just curious. Never had one of these but drink a ton of carbonated water
I just got the alert email for this deal... canister swapping really sucks unless you barely use it or really need it to be a small unit. I bought an adapter and 5 lbs tank at a beer supply shop that I swap out for 25 bucks every few months. last one was nov to april I think.
Target! I just took one to get replaced a few weeks ago. It was $15 or so. (BBBY use to just hand me the replacement without the exchange when I did curbside pickup. I guess it was because I paid online.)
Where in Target do u go to exchange for new CO2 n pay $15?
It says to carbonate water only but I put in apple juice instead and add carbonation to it. I don't go all the way to the fill line on the side to avoid having it spew. It's one thing to have carbonated water spew, you don't want sticky apple juice spewing. So yes just carbonate the apple juice. I may put it to 60-70% considering that full is at the fill line on the side.

Substitutes for BPA may not be any safer
Cool. Let me know when they do.
