anyone else with the same problem?
I've had the (~$32) g1w-cb from urlhasbeenblocked for a while now, and I like it a lot, but this sony-sensor cam got me curious if I've been missing out.
I got this Aukey a few days ago and have done some driving around with both next to each other. I'm uploading the raw(-ish) media to a Mega folder, but also putting together some side-by-side composites. That's actually a lot more ass-pain that one might guess, at least getting the frame-sync right, so I've only done a few so far, but I uploaded the lossless original composites to youtube here:

*I _losslessly_ repackaged the original mov's as mp4's and stripped off the audio for privacy. Also, anything I had to encode will indicate the CRF encode level (0=lossless) somewhere in the filename.
TL;DR: some situations favor the g1w, some favor the aukey. It's pretty easy to see the aukey's images are more clear for most situations, but some key scenarios favor the g1w when you might care: low light license plates. I'm guessing from the halos around all the lights at night, that the g1w does some gain-boosting, which might explain all or part of its apparently advantage. It's also possible there's enough subtle pixel data that a savvy person might be able to boost his own gain in post-processing, if necessary, but I haven't tested that yet.
NOTE: Recorded in Flagstaff, AZ (which is an "IDA Dark Sky Community" http://darksky.org/idsp/communities/flagstaff/) where we have incredibly weak streetlights by law.

Video manipulation notes:
Since the idea is to compare image quality, I did everything I could to make sure the images had no quality loss in processing. Whenever re-encoding an interstitial step, I used x264's zero crf value. I don't know if youtube re-encoded the huge resultants on the backend, so eventually I'll get along to uploading them to Mega, but in the mean time, I figured an 18 CRF would probably be indistinguishable but a fraction the size if people want to download and look.
Here's example ffmpeg commands if you're curious:

For those asking why mini vs micro, I prefer mini.
Mini is more secure compared to micro.
Micro USB sometimes becomes loose, specially if you take it out often.
