Just figured out a workaround for recording the F1 pre-race program. Set it up as a wishlist for 'Formula One Pre' and set it to record the wishlist programs. Really annoying that Tivo won't let me set it up with a season pass, but they have it flagged as a special so it's being seen as a one off, instead of a regular occurrence show that coincides with the F1 races.

Realized today that my clothes are too big. Got out a pair of jeans that I haven't been able to sqeeze into for a couple of years and they're already too big, I missed the window where they would have fit. Doh

Have to dig out all my old skinny clothes and see what will or won't fit tomorrow. Guess as problems go, that's a good one to have. Smilie

Huh my DVR guide just says F1 Racing for 6:30am for 2.5 hours, followed by 30 minutes of F1 extra. I just set the DVR to record the F1 racing, plus an hour, so I get the F1 extra coverage with that. I've never seen the pre-race as a separate show or listing Dontknow

Here it's listed as a separate program from the race, it's called 'Formula One Pre-race' and it's marked as a 'special' and 'sports' as the labels. Maybe it's a Comcast thing? Dontknow

We didn't do much today, hurting a bit so took it easy and then went for a coffee this afternoon. Got lots of reading done though. Have you ever heard of a series called Wool? It's quite good if you like science fiction stories, although it's not space fantasy related, it's more of a story about a possible future of mankind.

Dontknow supposedly everybody gets their listing data from the same place, but maybe since comcast is tied to NBC they get different data for NBC channels? Dontknow

be really careful for Monaco, it sounds like they are doing something really weird. I get the distinct impression that at least some, if not all, of the guys will actually be in Monaco, Hobbs was saying it has been years since he's gone. They were also talking about a F1 prerace on NBCSN at 7am eastern, followed by coverage on NBC at 7:30am - which means a full hour of pre-race coverage, near as I can tell? I guess we won't know until the listings come out.
Could be very cool if they are actually in Monaco, here's hoping for some good features and on the ground stuff from the race weekend woot
I was happier with this race's pre-race coverage, too - I'm all for them throwing it to Will on the grid and letting the camera follow him around - it's great to see that atmosphere that so few of us actually have any access to nod

Wasn't much of a race for your boy Hamilton Comfort you know it's not going well when the radio transmission is "I can't drive any slower" Facepalm

I thought it was a good race, a bit processional at the end for the top few spots, though, but good strategy by all the teams, it will be interesting to see what adjustments are made for the next race.

I guess it's about that time. Or later EEK!

Much slower at work today, finally. I've been waiting for things to slow down for ever. I have about two things to do by the end of the month, then just longer term projects to be working on. This is the first time in months I've felt okay about how much time I have left for things. Whee

Yeah, that message pretty much summed it up, "I can't drive any slower". Doh

They're going to change the tires sooner than they had originally stated, saw an article about it today. Now they'll have the new tires ready in time for the Canadian race.

You might find this interesting ML.

A Bothell family that was struck by a snow-laden tree on Highway 2 last December has filed claims against the state that could turn into a multimillion-dollar lawsuit.

What are they changing? I have potentially mixed feelings about a change. If they can keep the advantages among teams mostly neutral while improving the tire overall, fine. but if this destroys lotus' ability to be easier on their tires than mercedes, I don't see how that's Pirelli's problem. I really like this potential dynamic where teams will pick different numbers of stops, and not just the cars that have been pushed way out of strategy by penalties or bad qualifying.

The problem is when there's a cut or puncture, instead of the tire going flat the tires are shredding (de-laminate) or have the likelihood to shred and it's dangerous for the driver and for the cars that are behind him.

Whee nothing like an afternoon in San Antonio Sheep

got out at 4:50, got stuck in traffic in San Antonio, had dinner in San Marcos, didn't get back to the office until 7pm or so Doh laugh out loud

I need to decide, soon, what I'm going to do this weekend. I posted on my condo bulletin board that I was looking for Friday or Saturday V8 supercars tickets, but only got one response, with a link to the groupon/living social deal for $30 Saturday only admission (add in ticket master fees and $30 cash parking, and it's still a ~$70 day, I was hoping to get something a little cheaper than that). I was hoping somebody would have a full weekend plan and parking, but not need any of the Friday portion and I could go for really cheap. maybe I'll look around on craig's list tomorrow and see if I can find anything. My heart belongs to F1. laugh out loud

No other races catch my fancy, other than horse races.

Spent the day doing stuff around the house. Finally got around to framing a photo, then realized I couldn't frame the other one because the mat is slightly too big. Yawn
