Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

OMG!

Chatted with them to get a fee and tax estimate.

Chat agent starts out by asking and giving me a bunch of irrelevant info. 10 minutes later comes back with $15. I say that seems high. Chat agent says "The rough estimate for applicable states is $15. For further assistance on this I can connect you to our dedicated team who can direct assist you.

The person I get transferred to says
Since with the promotional free plan offer, there is not any amount, we are not able to calculate the taxes at our end. Although we cannot quote monthly taxes and fees, we do have a page with general information on such charges. You can Click Here to view the page. The actual taxes can only be seen in the bill. Thank you.

Says my phone is eligible... but what if I switch to a different unlocked phone a few months later?

It SHOULD work if I just pop in the SIM right? I mean... not like there's anyway to lock the SIM to the phone?
CDMA doesn't work that way.
Have to register both the SIM and the phone.

Good luck getting reception in a major city, concert, building, car or sporting event.
I really wish people would stop exaggerating about Sprint service. I've had service in all those locations, even with Sprint MVNOs. They might not be Verizon but they're not nearly as terrible as people like to claim. Sprint has better indoor reception than T-Mobile from what I've seen.

I am from Ultra Mobile and able to switch to Sprint for 1 year free service. May be you can try Google Voice Number and IMEI from T-Mobile Phone. Try once..nothing to loose... May be you get a Sprint 1 year free service + Google Number of your choice.

Coming from Nexus 6P on Straight Talk. Website said ineligible so went on chat. Chat told me to go into store, but only store in town is a reseller and won't honor deal. Tried chat again and they said to call and rep said my phone is locked with Straight Talk. I bought my phone unlocked from Best Buy. Been on Verizon before Straight Talk. Can Straight Talk put a lock on my phone? So confused. Would love to take part in this deal.

I've had all the phone services and while Verizon is clearly the best all around, Sprint is actually pretty good provided you don't live in a highly densely populated area or city or anywhere there's a lot of people (like a mall). I think the people who hate Sprint generally live in major cities, where T-Mobile is better. In less populated areas Sprint has been really good for me while T-Mobile has been noticeably worse. But once I'm at a big event like a concert or mall where there's lots of people around it's definitely worse than the other carriers.

It all matters where you live, if your in a Sprint Spark LTE coverage area, then your gonna get great speeds & service. However, I understand where you're coming from as well, Sprints LTE coverage area map isn't that good compared to the other major carriers. Personally I would never go to a CDMA carrier, because almost all of the rest of the world uses GSM technology & thus most factory unlocked smartphones come in GSM & not CDMA.

It's pretty clear their eligibility verification system is wonky. I'm porting 3 iPhones from MintSim (pre paid) and they all work, even though they explicitly say it shouldn't work. Seems like people are having problems getting Nexus phones to go through. As for your phone if it was originally purchased to use with Verizon I'm sure it's unlocked, there's simply no way you could use it on Straight Talk otherwise. ST didn't lock your phone, Sprint's verification system is just messed up.

Tried running my IMEI on my Nexus 6 currently on Mint Sim but it didn't work. I'm guessing that means prepaid customers are out of luck.
Same here! Mint & Nexus 6! High-five!

Is this really the case that pre-paid is out of luck? Or is there a chance that if you walk into the store it might work? Has anyone tried?

My guess is that Ultra/Mint is managed by T-Mobile, so it passes their wonky verification system. But I might just go into the store to avoid the shipping cost of the SIM, as others have mentioned. (I'm on Ultra)

Nope. Not lying. At work its constantly looking for service. I get VMs with no missed calls. You work for Sprint by chance?
