I need to call Sprint once my SIM card arrives to port in my number and activate the service. I am porting in a Google Voice line and an unlocked Galaxy S8... If I tell them that I am porting from Verizon, will they be able to tell that it is actually from Google Voice? Or won't they care?

It's a trivial change on behalf of the MVNO as long as the agent you're working for knows what they're doing (hint: Ting advisors always do!) and how to best help you. And while RingPlus wasn't technically bought by Ting, we offered all their customers an opportunity to switch over, and have the resources to help them port out, or flip ownership codes, or to become TIng customers.
1. Is it confirmed that a Tmobile prepaid will work? I can't find the t number, i just use the phone number to log in.
2. Are these the best deals for a new phone that will work (other than craigslist, etc.):

So far, good experience and both phones are working as expected on the network. Let's see how the road test will they will sustain in the mountain terrain we live in Denver, CO.
Thanks OP and rest of the group on Slickdeals and comments and directions from everyone in this thread.
on wed i saw the offer and went to the sprint store to get a sim card. called on the phone confirmed the promotion and set up a new account with sprint.
porting took 24 hours. verizon released my numbe but sprint could not activate it. i have a unlocked iphone 7+ from verizon. they asked me to reset the phone which makes no sense since the sim was not getting registered.
after 3-4 hours on the phone they finally ported the number
data worked but calls didnt for a few more hours. texts took longer
coverage in chicago is bad. t mobile ipad sim has better connectivity than this sprint
free is free but please be prepared to spend a few hours with sprint if things dont go according to plan.
hope others have a better experiance
I will try to summarize my experience from the last two days. Got free SIM from the fruit stand for my iPhone 7. Called to activate this "web exclusive offer." I was transferred multiple times because no one was aware of this deal, repeated my information at least on five different occasions, then was told to physically proof my identity at a Sprint Store. The in-store CSR-in-training decided to start a new account, wasting all the work I have done 'til now. I was still on the phone with the other rep continuously for 90 minutes while showing my two forms of ID's and reciting my personal information for the 432432nd time. They might have ran my credit twice at this point.
Finally, account is set up and I continue my conversation with the rep over the phone. She insisted there would be a $30 activation fee. After some back and forth, she agreed to remove the charge, but not without a hard sell me of the protection plans. Initiated porting from FreedomPop. Signed up for the auto-payment to avoid the $5 fee.
The number was successfully ported over about 8 hours later. The notification on the account suggested that I call to make the transition quicker since the old carrier has already released the number. An activation that needs an activation, whatever that means. The rep tested the phone with me. I was able to make calls, text, etc. I did not test the data since I was on WiFi but saw it was 3G. I later realized 3G is really 1X--unusable at all in Los Angeles. It is still unclear at this point, but it is possible that this is a problem with my iPhone 7. I should also note that the online account was a complete mess, auto-pay was not set-up either.
Then, it brings us to the present day--second day of service. Side story: my dog has been having bloody stool since early morning, needed medical attention ASAP. While attempting call the vet, calls did not go through and it said "your account cannot be validated." My dog was exploding from both ends while I was trying to straighten this out with Sprint (waiting for vet to open). After over an hour of transfers, Sprint found out that my account has been cancelled by accident... on my second day of service! They dropped my call while they were trying to reinstate the account. Unbelievable.
I am beyond furious and frustrated. Again, just want to share my experience, not exactly complaining since this is free, and I have other choices. On the brighter note, the dog just needed some antibiotics. Phew.

finally googled on how to reset settings on sprint network and then after a few restarts it started to work.
I placed an order on Tuesday evening and received the SIM card Thursday afternoon. Was able to activate the line online.
A rep called and asked if it was a good time for them to port in the number. I was on the phone for 90 mins with a few different reps when they realized I was porting from MintSIM, not a post-paid carrier. Finally a rep authorized it and said I would get the promo even when I'm switching from Mint.
Now I just need to make sure I get service on my iPhone 6. It's the unlocked version from the Apple Store, but I keep getting "no service" even after a reboot. Anyone has any idea why this is working?
