Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I am currently a Sprint SERO customer with an iPhone 6, not under contract. I plan on porting this Sprint number as well as another Tello number (formerly RingPlus) to MetroPCS. I will be participating in MetroPCS' port 2 numbers and get two free Samsung Galaxy J3 Primes. I will have to pay for the tax on those devices, (which I don't mind). I will be signing up for MetroPCS' 2 lines for $50 with 2GB of data each.

I will then be porting both of my new MetroPCS lines to this Sprint BYOD promo. I am hoping that me porting out of Sprint would qualify my numbers to be eligible for this promo. Hopefully I will be able to use my iPhone 6 with the same SIM in it again. If not, I will be buying 2 unlocked Lenovo Moto G4 Pluses for $200 from B&H.
Quote from JTravers :
Agreed. I've been sticking with SERO because of the unlimited with subsidized phones. Now that the subsidies are gone there's very little reason to stay.
I was finally able to swap my current Sprint iPhone 6 on my Sprint SERO plan to an HTC Evo 4G LTE. I then had the iPhone 6 unlocked domestically and internationally. I had to do this over the phone because Sprint treats SERO customers like second-class consumers. The customer service staff told me the unlock process could take up to 24 hours, but it took less than an hour. I am not under a contract nor am I financing so that is probably why the process went over so smoothly. I then popped in a postpaid T-Mobile SIM card and the iPhone 6 is working perfectly over T-Mobile. I also checked the Sprint BYOD landing page and my iPhone 6 and T-Mobile postpaid account passed the eligibility page. I will porting my Sprint SERO account to MetroPCS later today. Wish me luck!

It's in the wiki, not the original post, but it's as good as the same.

"Why won't it READ??"

The person asked about a device swap, not an upgrade.

When you asked ""Why won't it READ??" were you talking to yourself?

Are you the troll? It says right in the details for this deal. It's not bolded.

No, it does not state that you can not swap devices. Sprint's terms are ambiguous on the subject and do not explicitly state you can not swap devices.

Damn, sucks about Google Voice porting not working! That was my plan.

So now I'm going to try:
  1. Order a Moto G4 Play
  2. Add it to my Cricket account
  3. Sign up for the offer
Should work right?

You can definitely swap devices. What happens if you "break" your phone? You just can't upgrade, which with Sprint means a lease or DPP.

Thanks for the details. Will be interesting to see if your number is eligible once you port it out.

I wouldn't even bother adding the G4 to your cricket account. Just put it's imei in when checking eligibility with the cricket phone number that will be ported.
If it passes (which it should) when the Sim comes in then just pop the Sprint SIM card into it and start your service.

can you swap to any compatible (whitelisted) sprint phone, or only from the list in the offer? That is really the question.

and can you stack this deal with the credit union $100 per line offer going on?

I take it that this deal is stackable with cash back sites as the site I am looking at going through appears to be tracking the transaction properly.

Any Sprint compatible device. You should be able to do it through the website.

So what if the phone broke, lost or stolen? I thought upgrading means like discount device.
Read faq's about lost, broken phone. We just don't know what eligible device means yet. Does it mean one of the byod devices or will any sprint phone work.

Why don't you do everyone a solid and ask Sprint? Post back with their reply...

I think the credit union offer is $50 for BYOD, $100 if you activate a new device (either with port in).

Please stop this none sense. You can swap your device 100 times a day if you want. I got my five lines with free one year plan, removed my old freaking device, now using my SPRINT Iphone 7 plus. So stop telling something that you are not sure. Sorry for my rudeness but yes you can swap your device. Thanks everyone.

You can swap devices but will that invalidate the free promo? did you try to upgrade? If it allows it, it will invalidate the free promo per terms.

The point I'm trying to make is even if it allows you to do it, are you sure that Sprint won't start charging you for the plan. I don't know the answer either way.
