Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

What's the cheapest and easiest way of getting a line started elsewhere (without already having a phone) that's portable to this deal? Then what's the cheapest and most decent phone that you can buy that'll work with it? Some of you guys are so deep and savvy in to this stuff I'm hoping someone can help. I want to get my kids a phone line and decent phone and time is running out
my understandng is that u must have a phone that is eligible.

the number that u port can be from many places..it appears prepaid or post paid....

in a pinch..even a number barn phone will probably work...that will cost about $5 for number.

but first u need a eligible phone..
looks like the best quick option may be the moto phones from amazon

but do ur own research before proceding..

Account Number is 20 Digit SIM and Password is last 4 of sim?
Account number is an 8 digit number that I had to contact customer service to obtain. PIN is the last 4 of the sim.

Personally had a great experience setting up a single line port from Verizon postpaid through telesales (Verizon iPhone 6s).

Only thing - my icon reads LTE, but speeds are incredibly slow. Anywhere from 1.5 Mb/s - 5.5 Mb/s down and 0.5 Mb/s - 1.3 Mb/s up. Getting two to three "bars" though I live maybe a four to five minute drive from the nearest Sprint tower and coverage map shows best service available. Also know folks who use Sprint and have never reported data that slow in this immediate area.

Checked APN/Profiles, did the ##UPDATE# method, did the "Reset Network Settings" option under Settings -> General, applied the carrier update prompt... all to no avail. Voice, SMS, MMS and data all working... just not pulling down LTE speeds.

Would anyone know if there's anything else at all I may have overlooked before I plug this thing into iTunes and take the full wipe plunge? I won't be restoring from a backup, going to start over with a clean install. I've had to do this on a Verizon 5s once when I switched it between two carriers and that fixed it... just hoping to avoid the extra setup time trying to see if that fixes the LTE signal. Thanks in advance!

I believe there have been a few people in this thread, including myself, who have been reporting slow LTE speeds. I've experienced 1-2 Mbps DL speeds with my Google Pixel in areas with supposedly great coverage. I've also been in areas where I've gotten decent DL speeds of 20-30 Mbps, so at this point I'm just assuming it's Sprint's coverage.

Would buying a $.99 refurb Cricket phone and plan get a number established that could be used to then port into Sprint on this deal? Of course another phone would have to be purchased. How fast can you port out of Cricket after creating a new line? They have next day shipping if you order by a certain time.

Looked at Number Barn to try and just establish a number and park it to use but they're "wireline" and it isn't clear if Sprint will accept the number and/or be considered a "transfer"

It's been a similar experience for me... 1.5 Mbps with 3 'bars' of LTE in some places, but up to about 20 with 3 bars in others.

Did you guys get a temporary number while your number port in? Did it start to work right away? My phone is stuck on hands free activation.

i offered to check imei for a few sd'ers (who wanted to know if their phone was eligible) with my NB phone.

it showed as eligible.

edit:
here is email from NB when i inquired about porting bak into sprint:

Hi,

Our underlying CLEC carrier is Bandwidth.com. The would be the losing carrier when you port back into Sprint.

Thank you for choosing NumberBarn to meet your number needs,

Matthew
