Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

The T-mobile pay as you go sims I bought yesterday good for anything? They came 30 minutes and/or 30 texts. Don't care about what they're loaded with but thought maybe the sim could be useful in the future. Wasn't sure since I ported the number off them.

When I try the swap online I always get an error message and that I have to chat with them... Wonder if it's my browser... I know when my wife had an account I swapped a few phones and then I go that error message. Have you received an error when trying to swap online and found a way around it?
Thanks!
If you swap too many times online, it will error out. I don't know why, but it will fix itself on the next billing cycle. You can swap via chat with no problem. Also if the device is not in the Sprint database, you have to ask Sprint to add the IMEI into the database before it can be paired correctly to the Sprint SIM.

do we have to activate with t-mobile? the tmobile s8 will not work with sprint, right?
You have to activate at least one of the T-Mobile phones because the activation portal on samsung.com is working now. On the last deal, you didn't have to because the activation was broken. You have to unlock the phones with T-Mobile and flash the phones to either XAA or SPR firmware for them to work on the Sprint network.

So I used wife's Moto G4 and a newly activated redpocket account to place my order. I plan to activate the line from Wife's phone and then move the SIM to a different phone. Does Sprint allows swapping phones?
Yes, you can swap the phone online on your account. You cannot just move the Sprint SIM to another phone; you have to first do the swap online to pair the new phone with the Sprint SIM before you can activate the new phone.
Quote from dvrvarma :
I bought BOGO T-Mobile deal from.samsung S8+. If I get it unlocked will that work on Sprint? Anyone tried ? Are these any different than unlocked S8+ phones in Samsung?
Yes, it will work. The hardware is identical for all US variants. Just flash the firmware to XAA or SPR and ask Sprint to add the IMEI to the Sprint database.
Quote from vaca_loca :
Sprint SIMs are tied to a specific IMEI. If you swap ot to a different phone you will probably not get data or calls IIRC. You'll need a new SIM if you swap later.
You don't need new SIM. Just do the swap online on your account to pair the new IMEI to the existing SIM.

thanks... but its already been more than 5 hours since i started porting out from sprint to sideline... sprint number is still working and sideline shows it as pending.... not sure why it is taking that long time...
Sideline (like TextNow, Pinger, etc.) is not a true MVNO. I think Sideline rides on bandwidth.com API so porting to Sideline could take longer time. I think Sprint has agreed to release your number, and it's now waiting for Sideline to complete the port.

Can anyone please help? I signed up for the Sprint 1 Year Free Service over the phone. Got the plan and everything was setup. However, I am just getting 3G always on my Nexus 6 although Sprint Network Coverage map shows 4G LTE Plus available. Tried everything possible that I know off: Network Setting Reset, Update PRL, Update Device Config, even replaced SIM at Sprint Store, still it is 3G wherever I go. I used to get good LTE signal with T-mobile and previously R+ on my Nexus 6 (unlocked, purchased from Amazon). Does anyone know of any fix?

I activated on 6/21. It's been around 48 hours now. Still my Nexus 6 is on 3G only. Tried everything. I know one other person on this forum also has same issue as mine. Can anyone please help with any suggestion or fix? Will really appreciate. Thanks

Of my 3 lines, i was told the Freedompop ports would complete Sunday at midnight. Today i phoned the porting dept. and she pushed both through. One was a g4 play and that received LTE no problem. The other was a second nexus 6 which is only getting 3g signal (even after doing all the checks and carrier resets). As others have mentioned , i will just wait and hope it completes tomorrow. My original port was also to a nexus 6 that came from H2O. It received LTE signal without a hitch. Go figure.
Sheesh, i jogged my own memory. Deja vu.

Use Monkeybiz' fix here: https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=96456727&postcount=302

Works like a charm.

For iPhone's, you're safe with any carrier if you buy a 6/6s, as they all support both CDMA and GSM. If you want to port a 7, however, you can only use a Sprint or Verizon one because for this generation, the AT&T and T-Mobile variants do not have the CDMA functionality turned on (or maybe not even present, not sure).

For androids, it's more complicated and typically you're more likely to need a Sprint or maybe Verizon phone, but it's more on a phone to phone basis.
Android... The Google Pixel lines are good, as well as the Moto X Pure (2015) and the Nexus 5 x etc. It's all listed on this thread's first page.

Sprint has limited bandwidth on its cellular network, and its cellular network is over loaded/subscribed in most areas, where you see a lot of people complaining about slow network speed, that's why they are pushing more people to use the small cell/router with internet connection. The internet connection helps taking the load off Sprint's cellular network.

Sprint also skipped on this year spectrum auction. I have a strong feeling that Masayoshi Son is going to sell Sprint soon to free up some cash after Sprint pulls in record number of subscribers from this deal. He is tired of trying to revive Sprint and has new love for robots now Big Grin Softbank recently acquired Boston Dynamics and Schaft from Google.

The online activation/porting is very broken assuming that is what you used. I waited almost 24 hours (porting from Verizon) before I gave up and called in. Sounded like the online activation didn't fully process the order so the port never started. They were able to locate my account from my SSN and the PIN I was given from online activation but the account was missing the actual plan activation/order that should have been there. So they did everything over the phone and my port was complete within minutes after hanging up.

Lots of people here have had similar issues with ports not processing when doing it online.

Opened one line, approved for 4 more. A bit confused. Can I just request additional lines to get in on the free offer or do i need to repeat the same process (imei #, transfer line etc) for the year of free service to apply to the other lines?
