Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I am not sure if you can do that. Many people here said that they can't have 2 different plans on the same account. For me I used different SSN to open a bestbuy promotion iphone and another one for Sprint free 1 year promotion.
I asked the Sprint Rep at Bestbuy and he said I could add a paid line to the account. I also asked the Sprint CSR when I was on the phone setting up the account and she also said the same thing, that I could add a paid line to the account.

I bought an SE today on the promotion and want to get in on this deal for my parents (paid off phone and unlock should be done). Can someone confirm if this is an efficient way to execute the BYOD?

1) Port out to T-Mobile prepaid or H20
2) Get SIM from Best Buy or Apple Store
3) Port back into Sprint by calling the 866 number (can't do online right?)
4) Profit

How far west? I get pretty decent speeds in Lake in the Hills and Algonquin. I lose service until I get out to Marengo, where speeds are "okay". Do you need further west than that?

Quote from Verniculous :
This is implemented in Sprint's DMD correct?
Yes, IMEI, device ownership flag, FED, etc. are stored in Sprint DMD.

Quote from Verniculous :
I don't think you can get a TMobile Samsung device whitelisted by Sprint. Even though we all know the hardware is the same, Sprint won't do it because it would require flashing to make the device compatible. I have never heard of anyone getting a non-Sprint Samsung device whitelisted by Sprint.

iPhones yes, Samsungs no.
They can whitelist/add the IMEI of any unlocked devices. You do your own firmware flashing. I put the AT&T S7E unlocked (from the Walmart deal) on my wife's account. I have a Verizon S8+ on my account. A few others have also managed to add the Verizon Note 5 (3G only) and T-Mobile/AT&T/Verizon S7/S8 to their accounts. May take several calls (and some luck) because not all Sprint reps know how to do it. Don't mention AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon, just say unlocked to the Sprint reps. For whitelisting/adding Apple IMEI, they have a separate tool called DNA2.

Quote from Verniculous :
OK so they can bribe someone in Sprint with access to the DMD.
So then Apple's servers must interact with Sprint's DMD to find out FED status before issuing the SIM unlock.
Apple GSX servers now interact with Sprint DMD to verify FED. Unlockers are more than happy to comply with the FED requirement because they make extra $$$ from "cleaning" FED.

Quote from Verniculous :
I am trying to understand how it works - are there 2 issues? An "ownership" flag (PLBL) and the FED?

I have a Boost Moto E that was never activated on Boost but was activated on Ring Plus, Ting and Tello but is not currently active on any line. I take it this device is flagged as PLBL but could be changed to SPCS? But what about the FED?

Even if the flag was changed to SPCS, I can't use this device on Sprint postpaid because it won't pass the FED? Unless I paid an ebay unlocker to "clear" the FED?
For activating any device on the Sprint network (Sprint and Sprint MVNO), yes, two issues - device ownership flag and FED. Both must be satisfied if you are moving a device from Sprint MVNO to Sprint or from Sprint MVNO 1 to Sprint MVNO 2. Many people have reported that they change the device ownership flag but the device still fails FED and can't be activated; that is because the device ownership flag can be changed anytime even though the device fails FED, which is a loophole that Sprint needs to fix.

Since your Boost Moto E was able to activate on RP, Ting, and Tello, it's most likely already cleared the FED due to another loophole mentioned on the RP threads. Just ask Sprint to change the PLBL flag to SPCS.

Thank you for replying! I did get in touch with Sprint and they swap my phone (they had to register the sim with the imei and that helped me get onto Sprint. If I have an enabled phone right now I am using on Sprint, should I be able to swap that out to another phone and then bring it back to Sprint for the free plan? Thanks!
Yes, you can do that.

Quote from hongri :
Nice work, man. ThNk you. 2 Quick question, if I add a line with new installation ( for iPhone 8) on this free account, how much is the month cost for the added line? hopefully, it will be $20, and I can payoff then cancel the line within 15 days for full refund.
If you cancel within 14 days, you pay only for the cost of the iPhone 8 (i.e., the remaining balance of the iPhone 8 installments will due). Sprint will refund all surcharges, fees, etc.

Quote from hongri :
Also, you mention 10/1/2017 many times, does it means 120 days is an approximation number, 10/1 is the actual cut line no matter I open account on 6/20 or 7/30?
My bad, it was 10/1/2017 on the original promo, but then Sprint extended the promo, and it still says 10/1/2017 and 120 days on the website. I am not sure which is correct Big Grin

Quote from Moonltmdn :
Omg Elise fixed what two weeks of chats and escalations didn't fix within two hours! It is amazing! Thank you so much for your help! I am finally on the correct plan. I would triple rep you if I could. If you ever need a T-Mobile Tuesday code, I'm your man 😀
Glad to help Big Grin

Quote from skyrocker89 :
Can sprint add the imei of my device to their database. I got multiple confirmations from t mobile and Samsung that my device is not blacklisted and I have let sprint know about this. They have raised a clickit ticket. Do u think this will work. or is there any other way that can be done to make this work. Thanks in advance
Most Sprint reps are clueless. You have to keep calling until you get someone who knows how to do it. If they have created a ClickIT ticket, give them some time and the chance to work on it and hope someone who knows how to do it sees and takes care of your ticket. Don't create multiple tickets because that will only complicate things and confuse them even more.

BTW - Thank You so much. Your comments the very helpful and you deserve more appreciation than you get.
Regarding FED, please check your Boost iP6 IMEI on Ting BYOD, Tello BYOD, and Swappa IMEI checker; and let me what messages do you see?
Verizon iP6 works.

Is it possible to make a Sprint Samsung s8 work with this plan?
Yes, it must be deactivated and removed from any account.

I have Verizon. None of my phones are eligible. Any suggestions to get a phone for cheap to switch. Looks like moto g5 is best cheap phone @ $230.
Some Verizon phones are eligible. What Verizon phones (model number/part number) do you have?

Quote from mahbabug :
Any idea if S8+ unlocked phone from Best Buy works for this offer? Not sure what s8+ special edition means.
Yes it works. Special edition/open market means unlocked.

You can have different plans on the same account. Each plan has its own plan code and is billed accordingly. I have mentioned this many times.

WARNING: IF FREE LINES DO NOT HAVE ADEQUATE USAGE ON THEM, SPRINT MAY SUSPEND ALL OPENED LINES AND REQUIRE YOU TO CALL THEIR FRAUD DEPARTMENT. Be sure to use the lines once you open them (unclear how much "usage" is required).

This happened to me and it was a ****ing headache getting them to reactivate my lines since I did not have access to the phones on the account/used placeholder IMEIs. Once I told them this, they flagged my account as "suspicious" and forced me to go to a store in order to re-activate. OFC, once I did that, they FORGOT to activate all my lines and only reactivated one, so I had to go back to the store AGAIN to reactivate the others.

and OFC the store employees have ABSOLUTELY NO INCENTIVE to help you since these lines give them zilch commission. So they give literally ZERO sh*ts about you.

you've been warned.
I think the problem was that, as you said, you used placeholder IMEIs and phones you didn't have access to. So those lines were never actually "active." I think it makes sense for them to consider it suspicious. If people activate lines with real phones actually in their possession, I don't think this would happen to them. Maybe I'm wrong.

Worth noting, in case anyone else was thinking the same thing as I was: you can't do this and then on the same line get the $2.49 a month iPhone SE deal from Best Buy. But I'm not too worried. Already gonna be saving about $800 over the next year from not paying T-mobile $70 a month.

Verizon iP6 works.
Here you go -

Ting - Sorry, this phone can't be activated right now. Sprint says there's an unpaid balance associated with it.

Tello - Oops! Your IMEI might not be correct or your phone is not Tello compatible.

Swappa - Financed > Financial Eligibility - Device is not eligible for resale (financed).

Any suggestions?

When did you unlock it? If the phone was unlocked earlier this month after Apple made changes to its SIM unlocking policy, the FED should had cleared.
