Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I bought it from BBY as well. They couldn't get it to Scan appropriately, so in the box for MEID? they put a bunch of zeros. Is that what they did for yours? Or did they put the meid of your phone?

I am getting an error "invalid sim card" - I'm wondering if its because the guy put a bunch of zeros in the store?

Thanks!
You may be right. I happen to purchase the E4 at the same time. I had the same issue with the sim card kit, the system needed an IMEI to complete the purchase. I was concerned when they said they needed to scan the IMEI from my E4. They checked with a Sprint employee who was working there that day and he said that scanning would not result in any problems in using the sim cards. He was right.

I wonder if using all zeros resulted in the sims not being 'activated'. I know Bestbuy has a lot of security around the purchase of sim cards.

I got invalid SIM also until my port was complete on the Moto E4 with 416Q SIM. In theory, you can use any 416Q SIM, what Best Buy does to it shouldn't matter at all.

Does the phone coming over actually have to be unlocked?

The page on this is pretty useless. How to unlock your phone doesn't go anywhere...

Yes of course. However, if the phone is a Verizon phone it will already be unlocked.

Well, if it's a Sprint phone, it doesn't need to be unlocked since it will already work on Sprint. Any other carriers' phone would certainly need to be unlocked.

Any point in trying with a Samsung galaxy S5 with lycamobile (t-mobile mvno)? I searched this thread and apparently someone with a S4 got it to work by calling in and asking for an override

After I botched this deal the first time, I ported out the iPhone SE to T-Mobile yesterday. Going to re-sign up with a new SSN and another qualifying device first (need two lines anyways). When I add the second line to the free plan, can I port in the SE from T-Mobile again or is this going to raise red flags? I can use another IMEI on the second line and then swap it out for the SE, if that works.

Yes, I ported from an old FP ZTE phone without an issue.

I activated a E4 on the BYOD plan, but Sprint had to add the IMEI to their database. I used sim card SIMOLW416Q. I purchased the Boost Mobile activation kit at Bestbuy, which contains three different Sprint sim cards.

Thanks. They're sending card #3 now (at no cost this time, due to their SNAFU x2) and if it's not the 416Q card, I'll pick this up from BB.

was successful with MotoG4, activation kit #CSIM V1
Thanks for the response. That's the kit Sprint sent me (twice!), but while it's the right one for the MotoG4 it doesn't work w/ the MotoE4. Once the call was escalated, the Sprint rep. apparently found some reference to the 416Q card, and that's what we're trying next. (The first level rep tried to tell me that the phone wasn't compatible, so for anyone reading this who is having trouble getting the E4 activated, stand firm!)

Thought about doing this, but I would only save $15 dollars a month per line (net of tax) coming over from cricket's $100 for 5 lines deal. That's $180 a line per year which isn't really worth having to buy other phones to bring over to use for only a year.

I had Sprint for 11 years and it was so bad when I left about 4 years ago that it's not worth going back in my case, especially with the savings not really there.
