Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I have a gophone sim I want to activate on the 25¢/min or $2 daily plan so I port the number. What's the minimum I have to spend to get the sim activated and would I have to call at&t to do this? Online it only lets me select $30+ plans.

Also if I use the IMEI from a friend's iphone 7 on Verizon as a placeholder, get a sprint sim and port the gophone number, will it definitely not affect her existing Verizon service??

I want to use the iphone IMEI as a placeholder and swap in a cheap phone later but want to make sure my friend's service is still uninterrupted.

I have a Nexus 6p and I just use the data SIM card from my wife's Google Project Fi account (calls are placed and received using google hangouts and google voice -- all data). This is all I've ever done for my phone. It's super cheap and works well enough for me.

If I go under the SIM settings it says phone number "unknown". Am I out of luck for this sprint promo, or is there something I can do to make this work for my phone?

I entered my IMEI number and my google voice number on the Sprint website and it said I was not eligible (I figured it would do that).

Is the phone still active on project Fi? It probably needs to be deactivated and have mvno flag switched

Well, it's actually my wife's Project Fi account. I just use a data sim that Fi will provide for additional devices. So the only cost for my device is the extra data I use. Does that make sense? It's an unusual setup for sure. I've never actually had a real registered phone number on that device.

I could probably register it with a non-sprint mvno and then make it work. I just wasn't sure what the best route was. I suppose my phone could be treated like one that has never been registered on any network.

you can use an imei as placeholder and later use another phone? any other phone or just the eligible models ? then whats the point of limiting phone models/upgrades? can someone who has done this confirm?

Thank you. There is a discussion going on about how do you check if it has cleared FED?
Does passing sickw. with 'CLEAN&ACTIVE' + Ting OK, + swappa OK > mean it has passed FED?
What else can you do to verify it has passed FED? These phone were grandfathered in R+ 'pre-FED' if that matters.

As I noted earlier, even LiterallyUnlimited worship can not change flag for Sprint prepaids.
My guess...Sprint doesn't want to open a can of worms. Also, they has no love for any frugal customer, who actually has a "prepaid" phone (especially, from R+). Frown

BTW, Sprint needs to make more $$$...by selling their phones.

The list is made to include phones from other carriers that are compatible with the sprint network. The main point is to get customers from other carriers that's why port in from other carrier is required. Of course there are prepaid loopholes. Sprint phones from the list should work also as long as it is inactive on the sprint network. I'm not sure if inactive sprint phones not on the list will work when adding lines but they are sure to work when swapping lines. I'll put my J3 in imei checker later to confirm.

Sprint. So @!#%@ incompetent. Talked to 4-5 people, customer care, tech supports, even instore, all said they'd help and a few said it'd just take a few days... never did get my Verizon iphone SE to activate. Let alone have a single one of them actually know what the problem was. Though I've heard here in this thread that it just needs to be 'whitelisted' apparently that's something most Sprint employees can't or won't do? Whatever.

NOW however, I get a letter claiming they can't approve my financial application?? A month after signing up supposedly my application is somehow incomplete. I call them up and what do they tell me? I have to go into a Sprint store with two forms of ID to prove who I am!?! WTF is wrong with this company? It's not like I'm new to Sprint either. I was a Sprint customer just over 3 years ago. Same name, same address, same home phone number... but for some reason these jackasses need me to waste my time and wait in line at their store to prove who I am for what's essentially a 'free' plan!!!!!
To top that off, when I'm talking to their financial people I demanded (in a polite manner) to know why this was required. Why they needed me to waste my time when I'm not leasing a phone or signing up for a contract or anything. What exactly was wrong with my application that they needed this of me. The financial services rep I'm talking to of course has no clue why it might be required... so he transfers me. Someone else picks up a minute later, says 'hello' in an annoyed and rather rude way, and then IMMEDIATELY hangs up as I respond 'yes, hello'.
Again, WTF is wrong with this company!

PS. Even though I said I didn't want it, and removed the service online the day after signing up, I'm still being charged $13 for device protection on the iphone SE that hasn't been activated for this past month.
What happened with your financial application? I got one of those, tossed it somewhere as it didn't make sense at the time, I thought it was a typical sprint screwup.

Sprint has the best phone deals out of the major carriers. They are definitely not making as much or possibly losing money selling their phones. E.g. G6 for $4.99 a month and $50 credit for new lines for Father's Day. iPhone SE for $2.49 a month, $1.66 a month in store at Best Buy early July.

Sorry if this has been already answered.

When I checked eligibility with my Google Pixel phone (currently using on Cricket) and a GV number - it said my phone is eligible. Can I place order for SIM, active and use it on any other eligible device later or is the SIM tied to my device while placing the order? Thanks.

Was the phone active on SPP/BM/VM for 1 year? If not, then it won't pass the FED.

Just called the telesales number to activate, was told the promo will last until the end of September!

I ported a freedompop global sim number. Sounded like there were some issues and she had to call the porting department and then said I had to wait an hour until the port completes. When she asked who my provider was I told her at&t since I was worried it would be rejected if I said freedompop, hope that doesn't affect the port.

Anyone who's ported a freedompop number, who did you tell them the provider was??

I told them I didn't know. They looked it up and told me "Broadband - Sybase." (I knew this.) All Freedompop lines are VoIP lines. That's your number. They have hardware-linked number that shows as a Sprint MNVO number. Porting over your number listed on your account is strictly VoIP and they have no clue it's Sprint.

I called, phone rep was useless and insisted I had to go to the local Sprint store and prove my ID. I did. At the store they just used my DL and made a copy. Had been told I would need to bring a 2nd form of ID, but the store rep never asked for it.
