Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I just activated an old iPhone 5S on this plan. This phone was bought from Virgin Mobile years ago and only used in the past on RingPlus. It has old sprint/virgin mobile SIM card in it. I have not used it since RingPlus shutdown. To avoid any trouble, I went to get a new Sprint sim card before calling the number to add a new line to my plan. Surprisingly, during the activation process, the agent didn't ask ICCID (sim card) number, just went ahead and ported a T-Mobile prepaid number to this phone, and LTE worked with the old sim card in it. I only have to do a profile update and reboot the phone twice. Of course, the LTE speed is not as fast as my iPhone 7 because missing the LTE band 41, I think.

Speed testing both phone at the same spot simultaneously:

iPhone 5S: 9.47 Mbps Down / 3.79 Mbps Up

iPhone 7: 56.54 Mbps down / 4.76 Mbps Up.

You got from AT&T? You are lucky then! I bought mine from Apple store unlocked version A1661, which is for Sprint & Version, and has all the LTE bands and CDMA frequencies.

So, real AT&T version (A1778, A1784) should not work for Sprint well. I was surprised that you said your AT&T version worked. But your model A1661 is for Sprint/Verizon.
No I got it from Best Buy last year, I also bought a Verizon s7 with them last year and paid it off, but s7is not eligible for this promoFrown

I have $150 in Groupon credits. I keep seeing deals on Groupon for iPhones unlocked for "AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon", but no mention of Sprint. Will an IPhone from here work, or do i need a Sprint specific one? The wiki says Verizon iPhones will work, but I'm not sure these qualify. TIA!
Most probably its a Verizon phone and since they are by default GSM unlocked, so will work on T-Mo/AT&T. However, you will have to unlock it to be used on Sprint.

If anyone has an unlocked iPhone 7 and you're getting issues porting over try a different browser. I was using safari but kept getting an error saying I owed sprint money but when I tried on chrome it went through no issues whatsoever. Also the S8+ unlocked worked well also if anyone was curious.
Thanks OP and to everyone who contributed.

My new Note 5 should be arriving tomorrow. How do I activate it without losing the promo? Just switch Sims? My Moto G4 is acting up so I need to swap phones.

has anyone ported a number over the original ported number with this plan?

so i have a disposable mobile number from freedom pop and eligible phone.

my real number is currently with sprint

i have concern that i may get errors when i set this up online (credit score too high)

so what i would like to do is start the process by port in the FP number.....
then once everything is "as it should be"...port my real number from sprint to number barn.

then , in a few days, port the real number from number barn over the FP number on the 1 year free plan

i dont want to port to number barn and risk my number be in limbo..

also, would not want to port to google voice
any suggestions?
I ported in a new number from Simple Mobile to my Sprint 1 yr free BYOD line which was originally set up in June using a FreedomPop number. No problems.

thanks 4 the reply...repped.....

its funny, i asked the promo people, and they told me it wasnt possible

out of curiosity, did u take any precautions before u did that?
i mean were u sure it would not mess up the 1 year promo?

Yeah I had a number that I liked better than the number I originally used to establish one of my Sprint lines, so I ported it to Simple Mobile and then to Sprint.

I did talk to the regular Sprint CSR at the normal support number in my account and specifically asked if it would mess up my 1 yr free BYOD line, and she said no ... which of course is no guarantee but I have 4 other Sprint free BYOD lines so it wasnt horrible if it didnt work...so I then called the Sprint Port Dept: 1-855-641-1960 and again made sure it wouldnt mess up my Free BYOD....and he said it would be fine, port in took about 10 minutes.

I guess I will have to port out the number next year when this free 1 yr promo ends ...it's a good number!

I got my first bill. I was charged the $5 account per phone line, but the $5 per line credit isn't showing up. I am signed up for autopay, so does the credit show up on the 2nd bill?

ported my number from a MVNO under Tmobile..
currently,
only LTE works,, calling and texting do not work Frown
the error message I get when I try to make any phone calls is:
"
Your account is not authorized to make call to this phone number.
If you would like to have additional capabilities additional to your account, please call Customer Service.
"
was on the phone with a rep from 866-782-8777 for 2 hours, then transferred to the customer service department, and talked for 1 hour, then transferred to the technical department, and talked for another hour...after that, he created a ticket for me, said that an engineer will call me within 24 hours...
so, i out of phone for the next (24-N ) hours :/

Hey guys, do you think this works with a new customer but an old Sprint number?
My gf wants this deal, but she/her number used to be from sprint. She moved away 5 month ago. Thats why they would not give her this deal. But what if i sign up with her number? Is that going to work?
