Quote from joe318 :
Thanks for clarifying. I had one follow-up: when you say "approved list," does that mean the approved list of phones specific for the promotion, or a more general approved list of Sprint phones?

I do not plan on buying any phones through Sprint at any time through this one-year promotion. I just wanted to activate the promotion using a Google Pixel phone (which is on the eligible list) and then use a Sprint BlackBerry with a clean ESN for the full year of service after getting the sim card. Would this work? All I need to do is give them the info of the other Sprint-capable phone I plan on using and they'll send me a different sim card? Or can we only swap between phones on the promotion eligible list that is in the wiki?

Quote from lou2004 :
No one has any issue yet to swap with another Sprint phone. Basically you must sign up with the approved phone on the list. After that, you can swap with any inactive Sprint phone. People are still confusing the difference between swap phone and upgrade phone.
This clarifies things quite a bit!
So, what the poster above wants done can be done... with care.

Need some help from the experts lurking. I want to do 5 iPhones on the $325 off deal going on at Target right now (expires tomorrow 8/26) deal for resale. I'll need to cancel my sero account because you can only have 1 acct/ss#. I'll create a new account tomorrow for the iPhonesl. Since I'm cancelling I'd like to bring my Moto xp to the byod. Best way to go about this?

Port my number out to gv, cancel sero, start new account with 5 iPhone using the 5 att #s I setup today, unlock them right away , sell those, cancel iphonr based account then take my gv and setup a BYOD?

Yes, but not for initial purchase. Buy G6 on a different plan ( non BYOD), with a new number.
Port out that new number. G6 will then be swappable into your existing BYOD line. Works great. I just did it. Love this phone
I'm under the same situation. can you reuse the sim card in G6 when you swap the BYOD line to G6 again? Thank you so much!

I signed up two lines a few days ago, and just got my first bill. It's for $16.01, so I'm guessing the $5/line autopay discount isn't applied yet? I see it can take 1-2 cycles to apply.

If I bug them on chat, will they manually apply this if I ask?

I don't know if this is any indication, but from what I can tell in the fine print on the promo landing page the deal originally had a savings until 7/31/18. Then it changed to 8/31/18, and now it says 9/30/18. So maybe there is truth to it being extended for another month.
The deal went from expiring at the end of June, to the end of July, to the end of August, to apparently the end of September. Good for us but not a good sign for the company.

As for the swap, can you use sprint prepaid phones like the s4 mini or galaxy core Prime? Thanks, I'm looking to add my parents and they're not fond of higher end phones

I'm gonna hop off this 1-year free Sprint deal to Xfinity Mobile. I've been on Sprint for a month, but I'm finding too many places like grocery stores and office buildings where I'm dropping to unusable LTE or 3G. Ironically, I'm forced to use Xfinity WiFi in these places because Sprint doesn't work. My area even had a network outage two weeks ago after a storm, but Sprint doesn't pay for gas generators on their towers so they were down for 12hrs. Voice quality has been pretty choppy too. This is just the deal I need.

Holy crap this is the slowest service ive ever had. On Sprint im getting 2MPs download, whereas on T-Mobile I was getting 20-25 MPs download. Also, having trouble sending and receiving texts, and no internet surfing while on calls. I shouldnt be complaining though its free, just not sure how anyone is/was paying for their service.

Give little time for Sprint system to update. You need unlocked phone on the approved list to sign up.
