I was hoping for a more concrete answer than "could end any time...", because I have to folk out $1k to buy a few phones. I guess this deal is not for me.
Why is it matter? Unlocked phones work on all providers. You dont have to use it on Sprint.

The site wasnt working for me, so I signed up over the phone. The customer service representative knew about the free year promotion (so did the porting department rep, who went over the terms of the promo). I received my sim card today, talked to their porting department, and my phone was active in about an hour. I ported over from FreedomPop.

finally ported my 5 lines into sprint. had issues with one line, there was a mistake on one number, took about 2 hours to fix, they had to cancel the port and report with a different cost, but they got it fixed. Mostly me just being on hold while the rep figured it out, props to her. Looking at my account now, showing $5 for each line. Best part is, sprint service is way better than tmobile's service in my area. Will be a good year, best deal this year. Now the question is, what do I spend this "earned/saved' money on?

Call the promo number and see if they can resolve the credit issue for you.

The rep will talk to Sprint's Credit Dept. to try to get your credit issue resolved. If you are credit worthy and they cannot approve your credit over the phone. They will ask you to go to a Sprint corporate store (not authorized dealer) to have your identity verified and set up your account in the store.

Once you set up your account with an account number, pin, and credit lines, GO HOME and call the promo number again to set up your free BYOD plan.

NEVER SET UP YOUR FREE BYOD PLAN IN THE STORE no matter what the store salesman says. You can only get the free BYOD plan online or by calling the promo number.

Check posts # 9596 and 9725 for more details.

Check also posts # 10040 and 10042 for undesirable consequences of signing up for the free plan in the store.

Good luck.

If you are really insider then can you please tell us how and what can we upgrade after 1-OCT...As of now it shows upgrade eligibility in 2019 whereas according to terms and conditions when we signed up in June told to wait only 90days to be eligible for upgrade.

Did anyone else receive this email from Sprint? The offer is horrible ($488 for 18 month lease for $550 Iphone 7, which you don't own) What interests to me is, in theory, a new line can be added by purchasing a new phone from Sprint. Has anyone tried, especially new released Iphone 8?

"We hope you've been enjoying all the perks of your new Sprint account. Now that you've had a few weeks to learn the ropes, why not get the connectivity you need by adding a line?

Get an iPhone 7 for $0 down.

Add a line and get the ultimate smartphone for $27.09/mo. with 18-Month Lease"

I got the same error and have great credit. I wonder if it was because I had a Sprint account in the past, but it's been well over 5 years ago. It's been over a week and I dont see a hard credit pull either for me. I ended up using my wife's name and it worked fine. Using the new sim cards in a moto g4 and g5. Both work great and my first bill will be 6.88 in tax for both phones.

Here's my experience so far:

I've been a Sprint customer for something like 15 years, until Feb of this year, when T-Mobile lured me away. But this deal is enough to lure me back (I get good signal for both Sprint and TM where I live). I tried to sign up online last night, but got the dreaded "We're sorry, we're unable to confirm your credit online" message, like some of the other posters.

So today, I called the telesales line and spoke with a rep. She took down all of my info, and got to the credit check part, where she got stuck again. So she had to bring another rep from the "Manual Credit Check Department" on the phone, where he proceeded to tell me that I would need to go to a Sprint store with 2 forms of IDs to finish the credit check and account setup. The Telesales rep advised me to do that, then call back to finish the 1-year free promo setup on my new account.

Here's the thing - I have well over 800 on my credit score. There is NO reason to deny me a simple wireless account. The ONLY reasons I can think of is that I've had a Sprint account before (which I can still log into, but doesn't have active service on it). Needless to say, I'm HIGHLY annoyed Mad
