I work for corporate. You can also validate this if you call sprint telesale number in wiki. Memo is already released internally.

The goal is the byod free plan was to juice up subscriber counts for the T-Mobile merger discussion and negotiations which is close to completion.
Is it true that there's a 4 month waiting period to change the number of a free plan line or to port a new number in over top of it?

Love how tons of people are waiting on the possible merger and acting like it's gonna happen next week lol. At this point the merger is still a rumor, they tried once before and failed! Even assuming the merger is real and they are working on it right now it would be awhile before it was even approved if at all! Even if it was approved and went through it would be awhile after that before people would see any benefits from it. If the merger happened yes it would be great for sprint they could for sure use the help, but it's not going to happen anytime soon if it even happens at all. People switching hoping on the merger and possible benefits will be waiting awhile and possibly disappointed as well. The good part of this deal is saving some money for a few months to a year while maybe still having ok service depending on your area, not the possible merger and possible benefits if it even happened.

One guy here who said he's corporate said there will be no more extensions. The phone reps don't have a clue. I guess if you can switch, switch before this month ends.

My mom's account is under my sister's in TMO, so I just set up my account successfully porting from Freedom pop to the BYOD plan, So can I bring my mom's over to my account? Or will that be a porting issue since the number is under my sister's?

Guess I'm porting two numbers tomorrow then. Sucks that it's at the end of the month so I'm losing out on a month of service.

Once I opened the account with eligible phone, can I subsequently switch over to another phone not on the eligible list?

i think they will base it from the day you opened your account/activated, so for you 9/30/18 would be 12 months.....:-)..hope you have good signal.!

From my experience, all you need is the phone number being ported, the account number, and the account PIN number. Your sister's T-Mobile account will automatically adjust. I'd talk to your sister first to see if the number is under any financing contract or any possibility of her monthly rates increasing.

I mainly stay in the city and rarely go to the coast or deep into the woods any more so my signal is respectable at best. Can't beat free .99 though! 🎉✨👯💃

If I signed up in June, that means I am eligible for an upgrade starting October 1st, right? Does that mean I can upgrade to any device like the HTC Bolt or LG G5? I noticed that it's only $145 if you buy it outright or $25 down and $5 per month lease. Neither the HTC Bolt nor any LG phones were on the BYOD list though.

Get started takes me to the eligibility page where you key in IMEI and phone number. Are you not able to move forward after keying that in? I did it the same way a week ago.

Get a galaxy s8, or move to a non CDMA network.
If simultaneous talk and surf works on the S8, I'd think it would work on the Note 8,but it doesn't. Any other Note 8 users manage to be able to do both?

My solution was to add another line and use my old Nexus device for web surfing when I'm on the phone and without wifi.
