i hope someone can correct me here if wrong but i think you can bridge with google voice if I understood the thread.
How can that be setup for someone whose ATT contract does not end until NOV 12 ?

I'm grandfathered with lower base plan $7/mo Plus taxes for 200MB with unlimited 2g on TELLO.
For $7/mo, you get 250 minutes, 250MB and Unlimited 2G with TPO.

yes, probably cheaper plans out there so I'll keep an open mind. I just get overwhelmed by all the details of every service and if there are any gotchas like steep overages or top offs. I just found more info on my plan, I haven't even studied it yet. I still believe the overages are lowest on Tello and I like mixing plans and paygo on one line. http://www.prepaidphonenews.com/2...plans.html

Quote :
There are no changes to Tello's Pay As You Go plan. PayGo rates are 3¢/minute, 1¢/text and 2¢/MB. The minimum top-up is $10 and PayGo balances do not expire as long as a call, text, data usage or top-up occurs at least once every three months

No overages on TPO after 250 minutes. IIRC, outbound calling just stops, but VM still works.

No top offs, monthly auto-pay billing.

Thanks desi_babu_2010! Rep given! :-)

You bring up a good point! Yes, her phone number IS important Which brings up ANOTHER issue. When creating a line, if I have the phone number and password from the ported number, will they care that the number is in a different (her) name, or do they just go by the number and password?
so..if number is important, then to be 100% cetrtain that the number will port.... then u will have to break the contract and port all in once before 10/31.

did u find out what the etf is?

finally, no the name on the att contract can be different than your name on sprint

just need to know:
1. att telephone number
2. att account number
3. att pin number that is used for porting

So question, if the number is not important then I can just port in a google voice number of my choosing to the line? And I can call Sprint back and add another line anytime before the promotion ends (up to 5 lines). In other words, I only need to call today to open an account but can add more as long as the promotion is valid later?

Im sure it's been answered somewhere in the 700 pages of comments, but

Im trying to port a google voice number as a second line, I've unlocked the number and set up a pin code, but

1. do i tell them the service provider is google voice or something else?
2. will they reject me if they know it's google voice and not a post paid number?

Disregard SOLVED
Can you please share your experience with this? I have 3 GV accounts I'm ready to unlock and 3 unlocked iPhones without service that can be activated. How to handle this situation?

SIMOLW416C is the right one but maybe others here can corroborate.
The 416C also works on iphone 5s-7 but are not carried at apple store.
Comapatible sims for iphone 5S are 416C,436C,506C,406C(end of life),426C(end of life).
iphone 6 sims 416C,436C,506C,426C(end of life).
iphone 6s sims 416C,436C,446C,506C,426C(end of life).
iphone SE sims 416C,436C,446C,506C,426C(end of life).
iphone 7 sims 416C,436C,446C,506C.
iphone 8 416Q,426Q. The difference between simO simG are just manufacturer.

cool, I'll keep it in mind, choices are good. Hope we aren't diluting the subject here too much but it's nice to compare options with CDMA. You can probably find me in the Tello threads, I'm kind of the loyal (and lazy) type.

that should be correct.
again, most likely all should be completed /done before 10/31

also, keep in mind, port from GV or non traditional cell phone numbers (number barn, landline, etc) may take longer (2-3 days)...so start early..

I chatted with technical support, this may help others:

There is NO issue with porting a number from another provider to a recently created (Free Year) Sprint account (even if it was previously created with a Sprint supplied or other "ported in" number) . The chat rep (very friendly and knowledgeable) took time to see if the number I wanted to port was "eligible" for porting. She determined it was, and told me it would be no problem if/when I wanted to port it to one of my existing lines. So, based on this, it appears that I have 2 choices for my friend: (I am NOT sure if my friend wants to buy a new phone or not):

1) Pay the ETF now (about $100), and port the number to a new line. Either buy a new (permanent) device to associate with the number, or buy an "interim" device, and switch back to the "old" device after the other provider (ATT) issues their final bill and "releases" the phone; OR

2) Open a new line with a new Sprint number. Use a newly purchased device to associate with the number. Next month, after the contract is ended, port the old number into the new line (and, if necessary, move everything into the old device which can now be unlocked).

Do those 2 options make sense?

In my case, I wanted to port in a number attached to an excluded carrier/device, so I unlocked the google voice number and set up a voicemail PIN per instructions, then ported in that number to the device I wanted to use. Once activated and working, I then I called the porting department and ported in the number from the prohibited carrier/device. I don't think the port department cares about various promotions and their rules once your set up.
