For those last minute SD'ers without alternative/creative solutions who want last minute in on this deal:

1) Go to the Apple Store and request a (free) T-Mobile SIM
2) Go to Best Buy (after checking stock online) and buy an unlocked Moto E4 (you can change phone in the future if you want).
3) Go home, call to activate T-Mobile prepaid and get phone number. Make sure you choose PIN while activating
3) Register for Sprint Free Year using the T-Mobile phone number (account number is same as phone number), and the Moto E4 ESN
4) Enjoy your free year (or give the phone and free year to a needy friend/relative/GF/BF)

There are numerous other ways to do this, but with one day remaining, this is one of the easiest/quickest AND I KNOW IT WORKS AS DESCRIBED!

Don't forget, unless extended, tomorrow is the last day of this offer. You're welcome.

I think I'm beyond help. But I'll ask just in case.

Had my BYOD plan since July 3rd. went to Sam's two weeks ago to get the S7 Edge installment deal. The guy said I can just upgrade my current phone and went through all the way till activation. Had to call someone in Sprint Indian to help with that. Told the Sprint guy if this requires change of plan, don't activate the phone. That guy took no for an Yes and went activate my phone. The sam's guy say his sprint rep can change my plan back and so I got the phone.

Now a weeks later, several calls and chats after, my BYOD plan got changed to Freedom. When I went back to Sam to return the phone, they told me they can't resell the same phone on the spot.

I'd like to keep the phone, and my number. I'm thinking about just pay it off and switch to cricket or something.

Or I can have a family member opens a BYOD account. But not sure I can bring in an existing Sprint number - even if I Port it out first.

Thanks for any help you can give.
The number is no problem. Port it out to TMobile or whoever temporarily to kill the paid plan, then you can port it back in later if you want.

Sprint has a 14 days money back satisfaction guarantee. If you are still within it, you can use it. If not, just porting out will at least kill any further charges. Also ask for existing charges to be reimbursed. Surely Sam's has a guarantee also.

If the installment plan is a Sprint plan, there is no way you can use a Sprint-subsidized or financed phone on the free plan. They do not allow it. Buying a different phone on a subsidized plan would not be any different. But maybe you can find a good deal elsewhere on EBay or whatever. Usually that is possible.

Meanwhile, if you want the free plan, you will have to open another account under your wife's SSN and put some placeholder phone on it (any free and clear Sprint postpaid phone will do) before the offer expires, and port in a number. It could be the same number if you can get it off onto TMobile or whoever first, fast enough.

You could try to get them to reverse the whole thing and put you back on the free plan if you want but I cannot guarantee that will work. If you want to try that route, you can try asking https://twitter.com/marcicarris?lang=en . However they are not going to allow you to put a Sprint-subsidized or financed phone on the free plan no matter what.

Actually if you can get back your original free plan and start date with Marci's help, you would be eligible in a few days to upgrade your existing phone (120 days after plan start)! She might say that is close enough and do it for you all in one (I cannot guarantee it though).

I have a sprint iphone6 ( no longer with sprint since about 6 months ) which I got unlocked and using with tmobile sim. Still have the old sprint SIM with me.

If i can use the phone and sim, which would be the easiest number/service to port from. I would have to open a new account /line with them and then attempt porting to sprint.

Thanks in advance

Either port the current T-mobile number to the Iphone 6/Sprint SIM, or get a new T-mobile SIM/number as above.

At the end of month for last 3 months it was supposed end. It stills say limited time offer, no end date. Pure speculation, people have had the past 4 months, Let's GO!!
Yes, but those who want in should assume it will end. Also, more likely it WILL end because the merger is already negotiated.

cant touch the tmobile #'s as two #'s are primary with hook up discount and the third # is a free line. I only pay 75$ for all the three lines. ( reasons to switch from sero - tmobile offers hotspot and sprint stopped discounting new phones )

During the last month, I experienced no service in one of the areas twice on tmobile and never experienced no service with sprint and with sprint, I never had that issue for 15 years and I could roam freely with out an issue.

So probably will open this new line with sprint and see how it works out.

Had the service for about 3 months now, pretty happy with data and text, voice is a little spotty but works for the most. This is one hell of a deal.

the deal will most likely end at the end of that day...ie last day of the month... most likely in 2 days

all speculation, but i dont think the deal will end 1 day before month end (10/30)

As usual, you are absolutely correct! :-) Somehow, my mind had tomorrow confused with the 31st! :-) But, anyway, nothing wrong with getting the slowpokes working fast! :-)
