I moved my paid lines from ATT to this plan except last one which has Iphone 7 on installment plan and half way paid off. I can return it to ATT but is there a way to benefit from equity I have on it? I only owe $300 on it.

Repped, but one question. Do I need to use different IMEI's or should I be good with the originals

Thanks!

Forget what you paid, just evaluate today's situation. Can you buy it out for $300? If so, decide if you would pay $300 for it if it were sold on ebay. If so, pay it off and "buy" it. If not, give it back and buy something else. In the meantime, save a ton of $ on this deal!

One more question, what's the best source for the sim?

yeah lesson learned here but really silly that both support options and after talking to 3 different people they all said i had to go to the sprint store and no other option. i also can't understand why a simple ESN swap causes your plan to change. really messed up system.
No the ESN swap didn't mess up your plan. It is the store that messed it up. ESN swap over the phone has no issues.

If you have Apple store close, it is free...otherwise, a few $ on ebay.

Thanks! Does Sprint have a trade in program that can work with this plan? Also I am thinking that my wife can open a new BYOD plan in her name so I can later migrate my other BYOD lines there and extend my free service, did anyone try it yet?

Reports are it works no matter how you buy it. But, here are the possibilities:

1) Buy outright;
2) Buy with Apple financing;
3) Buy with Apple "'upgrade" program

All 3 are reported to work. #3 carries "some" risk, because Apple wants to know your Sprint phone # and wants to do the activation for you. However, it's been reported (once) that you can do this and ask Apple NOT to do the activation when you pick it up, and then call in the phone IMEI yourself. So, I would advise if you go this route (Apple Upgrade Program) that you tell Apple NOT to activate when you pick it up. If they refuse, back out of the transaction, and do #1 or #2.
My experience has been different.

Bought the iPhone at Apple Store, paying Full price ($1149 for the 256GB Sprint). I had to order the Sprint version, because you had to specify your carrier+tel (except T-mobile). Since I had paid the full price, I assumed it was unlocked; and the Apple SalesPerson assured me that it was Unlocked.

But guess what, it is Locked to Sprint. After 1 hour with Sprint (over the phone), I was told that I have to activate it on Sprint and wait for 50-days to have it unlocked.

I am going back to Apple store to find out if it can be unlocked; if not, I will just return it.

(Note: even the table at Apple.com, when you click on 'payment options', indicates that if you pay the full price, the phone is unlocked.)

Migrate from one plan to another works as long as SS# is different, others have done it. Trade in program is likely not worth it, as it would require that line being on a paid plan, but others may chime in.

OK, so 1 data point for, 1 against. As usual, YMMV. The only 100% sure thing is to wait a little while until the SIM Free version is available.

See wiki for SIM info -- if you need it now then Boost Mobile triple SIM kit from BB (Target might sell it as well)

You want 506C or 446C: https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...r-SIM-Card
